They will not convert your weeks without a purchase. Certain properties they offered free or low price conversions to all owners. At other resorts they did not offer the free or low cost conversion. You may be able to talk them into a lower price (but still no lower than $8000-10,000) but for a smaller package of points. The benefits that they are offering will not transfer on resale so you would have to decide if you really think you will get $8000-$25,000 of benefits especially if you lose silverleaf benefits.
