Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Can I withdraw a rental

Feb 22, 2008

I am thinking of renting my timeshare wek with Redweek. If it is not rented within a certain time, can I withdraw it from the rental page so I can bank it with II. Marylin

Marylin you can pull your unit at any time! Redweek has nothing to do with what you do because they only rented you a space to run your ad and that is it.

We did same thing last year when we had zero hits we pulled the ad with thirty days left and started making plans to use it ourself.

We did try Redweek one more time and again no hits and again we will pull it when we get back from Maui May 30,2008 and go up and enjoy Lake Tahoe July 4th week!

============== Phil,

Did I read in one of these forums, that you owned at the Ridge in Lake Tahoe? Is this the same Ridge I see on the II exchange sites? I'm looking for someplace different for or 2009 vacation and the Ridge looks like a nice place. II has the Ridge Pointe, Ridge Tahoe and the Ridge View. Any comment?

Also have you ever tried to rent via vacationtimesharerentals.com? I've had a bit more success with that website and I like the feautre that tells you how many times your ad has been viewed. Mike

Yes Mike we do own at the Ridge Tahoe and we own two units, the Naegles summer prime and EOY Tower prime season and love the Ridge.

I only listed on Redweek because we don't care if we rent and will go up again this year if no hits on our ad. Just thought the rental would help pay our airline ticket cost to Maui in May.

My wife already has that week off and we are having second thoughts about renting it. She wants to go up and rest from our Maui trip.

Thats a new one to go Maui then need Tahoe to rest four weeks later.

The Ridge Resort is inside the gates with Naegles(three buildings 10-11-12) and are true two bedrooms, no lock-off. Ridge Tahoe is II but some of the Naegle owners still belong with Rci from when they first opened and were Rci and II but not many.

The Tower is high rise across from main club house and has small four foot patio to sit and read a book or look around then down hill from there is the Terrace and Plaza.

The newest and largest I believe is the Cascade down at the bottom.

The other buildings are about 1/4 to 1/2 mile across from the Ridge and look more like motels and look nice and many ski people grab them as there much cheaper. You do have the right to come inside the gates to have dinner or workout and swim in the pools.

If you are thinking of summer time and like to enjoy your patio and cook those steaks on the grill you want the Naegles. There were first buildings at the Ridge and still the best. The Naegles are only units that have full patio, raps from one bedroom to other.

Our Naegle is summer and we take July fourth week most years. This is one reason we went back and bought a Tower unit again so if we trade we still have a week in Lake Tahoe.

We have July 4th week 2008 and 2009 and Labor Day week 2010 already booked.

Then we went and booked our Tower unit for July 4th week 2010.

This way we can rent Naegle and still have July 4th week in the Tower.

Take the Ridge if you like the mountains and great lake and like to hit some casino's too! Your family will love it and also take a drive up to Virginia City the old mining town and spend half a day there and enjoy.

Next is the Tower which has great view and across from the club House.

We have July 4th week 2008 and 2009 and now getting close to picking our 2010 if we still want July 4th week.

=========== Thanks, If we get out there during 4th of July, 2009, I'll look you up.

Mike if you want go to my rental and send me a pm and I will give you my e-mail so when your ready I can give some idea's for your family.

Mike just remember if the patio area is important ask for the Naegle buildings.

If its only the two of you the Naegle is a waste because it is a true two bedroom sleeps six. Next choice would be Tower/Plaza/Terrace/Cascade which all have lock-off units.

You could get a one bedroom if someone did a deposit like we did for this Nov. I would not take the lock-off if your wife likes to cook because as most lock-off the second unit is just a one bedroom/bathroom with small refer, Hotel room and spending seven days wouldn't be fun.

Make sure you are exchanging for main unit.
