marriott time shares

I am getting mixed answers for switching weeks outside of your season (silver, gold or platnium). I am being told that even if you purchase a silver package, you can still trade it at your home base outside of your season. I was told that you can do this by allowing yourself 1 year in advance and by paying a 99 dollar fee. Does anyone know if this is true.

Yes, you can try for any Marriott thru Interval exchnage for a $99 fee- just a matter of whether you will get it - but sometimes you can be lucky - I once traded a bronze week for a gold - late summer same resort at HHI - but I wouldnt count on it if you are in a very popular resort - Marriott exchanges get prirorty MArriott at 59 window only I think -
