Thinking of buying a resale Hyatt property in Key West. I've heard there are issues with Hyatt and resale point ect. Is anyone familiar enough with this system to fill me in? Positives and negatives?

I received 1100 points as a result of a timeshare resale purchase last week. The points are for 2011. Do I have to use them in this calendar year and how can I use them? I realize they cannot be used at Hyatt hotels.
