We own Shell Vacations Club, which is now part of Wyndham. We recently went to a presentation for Wyndham, and we are interested in buying into Wyndham. The cost per point in the resale market is a fraction of what you would be through the normal retail channel. What are the differences between buying right from Wyndham vs. buying through Red Week? I know there is a VIP program that allows for things like free upgrades, point discounts, etc. We are trying to understand the difference between both. Even if you don't get the VIP benefits, the cost of the points on resale are a fraction of what they are through retail. Before we purchase, it would be great if some of the experienced and knowledgable people here help us better understand the pro's and con's and the things to look for and stay away from.
