If you're going to do alot of cooking I'd visit the Walmart for groceries. If you're looking for just a few things for in-between meals I'd stick with the store at the resort unless you are already out and have time to work in a trip to the store before you head back to the resort. The $$ you would save at WM is greatly diminished by paying the taxi -it's not cheap ...not to mention your vacation time! The convience store has a great selection and even though we cooked in the villa a couple of nights and had breakfast/lunch/snacks/ and most of our beverages that we carried to the pool in a small soft pack cooler, we decided we'd purchase the bulk of our groceries from the resort next time and like I said, when we go to town we'll make sure to make our trip count and purchase the rest of what we want then. We never checked it out, but there's a Sam's Club there close, too. It's right on the main road.

5th Ave. is about a 10-15 minute drive. Most of our taxi drivers could easily do it in 10!! And I believe the cost was $10 each way without the tip.
