Lets take this one step at a time...first banking.....call daily management and ask them if it is true that rci owners of vacation village have to bank through RCI or them...maybe you are a retired person...but you are obviously on somebody's payroll.
====== I gather Vacation Village is your resort? By "daily management" do you mean the front desk or what?

Some resorts do indeed have some lists of weeks you can exchange into directly through them. Stranger yet, .......well, I made an exchange through RCI but it never showed up on my History on the RCI site, which I found disconcerting. When I called to ask why, I was told that the week I got in Spain was supplied directly by Mayan Palace and didn't show up on the RCI site because it was not from their exchange pool. I was exchanging an existing Mayan Palace deposit which I'd made nearly 2 years ago into RCI and did pay the RCI exchange fee. Wierd. It is true that I had not seen the week I took listed on the RCI site but it was offered by the RCI VC when I decided to reserve by phone.

The first time we went to Mayan Palace, I believe we did it with a semi-internal exchange from Grandvista to MP and paid GV a lower-than-RCI fee. I'd forgotten that! You really can at least ASK your resort whether they have anything available like this. I know PIC weeks accepted by Fairfield/Wyndham go directly into RCI but some other chains may keep them to exchange on their own. I don't know what Bluegreen does with AIM weeks. (As we used to say re insurance claims: Go ahead and ask. The worst they can say is "No"!) MD
