Their pitch has not really changed. Only the business name got flip-flopped a few dozen times. I am still receiving those crazy dumb-'ss phone calls. There is a way to get rid of them:
1. Kindly ask for the caller's name. 2. Ask for the name of their business. If you don't understand it (bcs they're trying to hide it), ask them again, and again. Until you have All the details. .... and where they are based out of. 3. Stay friendly. Stay determined. Stay in control of the conversation. You call the shots, not them !! You ask all the questions. Do not answer any of theirs. 4. When you have all the ID information, and you have possibly managed to google it, while you have the caller on the phone, calmly tell them that you recorded the conversation, and to never, ever, ever call you again, or they personally, and not only their business, will have a tough law-suit on their hands. 5. RCI has a legal representation, which is continuously chasing these rogue businesses into court, and makes them pay!! You can call RCI afterwards and ask for the legal liaison contact information in these matters, and then provide the paralegals or attorneys with all the information you gathered on the rogue business.
The thugs will then leave you alone for some time, perhaps for a year, or for two, or for five years. But they will certainly come back to take you for a ride on the scam of a life time. You can choose not to believe it, .... or you can pay for a scam.
Be kind. Be tough. Smile! And enjoy your vacations. You deserve them!
