I have been renting my unprotected and unverified Marriott timeshare for 20+ years with no issues. I give the prospective renter the direct phone number for Marriott reservations which they can call independently of me at their convenience and verify any and all information regarding the reservation and my ownership status. Once the room is booked they receive an email confirmation with reservation numbers and dates directly from Marriott.
