Our experience was extremely disappointing.
We had a signed contract with Nicholas Stewart at Vacation Homes Only (Preston Green's Company) for a specific vacation rental week. He required payment within 15 minutes, and we paid in full as requested. The very next day, he informed us that the week we had contracted and paid for was not actually available.
This was unacceptable. Our guest had already purchased airfare and made additional travel arrangements based on the confirmation and contract.
Our contract states that if the contracted accommodations are unavailable due to the owner's fault, the owner is responsible for providing comparable or superior accommodations. This was not presented as a resort-related issue, but rather that the reserved week was unavailable after payment had been accepted. Nicholas Stewart did not confirm the reservation before signing the contract and collecting funds.
A refund alone does not address the disruption and expenses caused to our guest.
We were particularly concerned that payment was required immediately, yet the availability of the reservation had apparently not been confirmed before accepting our money.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Nicholas Stewart, VacationHomesOnly, or Vacation Rentals Worldwide. If you choose to book with them, be sure availability has been fully verified before sending payment.
