The Manhattan Club is very nice, in a great location, and you can feel comfortable bringing a few friends there. I own two flexible weeks, and for the last three years, I have been unable to book a room when I need it. Folks book things 6 month to 1 year in advance, and the MC holds a few rooms and makes them available on the open market to non-owners. That part of it stinks. I live quite a distance away, and I can't always plan 6 months in advance. That's the downside for me. Often there are last minute cancellations, but the MC won't tell you where you are on the cancellation list. I suspect if you are able to walk in you have a better shot at finding a cancellation.
