Re: the manhattan club (by Disgusted I.):
Howard, The upsetting part is dealing with a deceptive salesperson. We are handling it based on what the attorney advised us to do first before hiring him to take it further to avoid spending more money. I love NYC, and have been there many times. I will say I like the Manhattan Club, in my opinion it is an average place to stay. I'll leave it at why it was average. I will say while we were there we witnessed two very upset people with reservations and it was horrible. That should have been the first indication of not to buy. For us, we are disgusted with the salesperson, the whole idea of wanting to sell what they cannot accomodate, and of course the outrageous maintenance fees. There are other things that are not as huge that I listed in the initial post. With these serious things this is enough for us to not want to own there. We are both busy professional, I am working on a Phd. I am very stressed, we both are, and refuse to do business with a place that will do this. So many people have complained in these forums of not getting in and losing out, why be an owner??? Once I get this all dealt with, I will share everything my attorney advised, and why people should not stay in this, hopefully for us it will be resolved within a week. We are owners of Travelshares through Worldmark, and we have the ability to exchange through RCI, we love our travelshares because they are based on points, and we pay a small exchange fee. RCI has recently added other spots in NYC so maybe we will end at another spot, but we won't be buying with anyone, unless we are just adding more points to our Travelshares, huge lesson learned............I hope I answered your questions..........
