Points bought on ebay and anywhere else other than DRI will not be added to your Club account and will not bring you to gold status. Thus, resale points will not do what you are wanting to do as they do not count toward loyalty tiers.
DRI has been known to allow you to bring those resale points into the Club and let them count toward gold/loyalty tiers if you buy half the number of points from DRI that you wish to bring in resale. So if you want to bring in 10,000 resale points into the Club, then you would have to buy 5000 points directly from DRI.
