Re: Royal HOliday (by Auli A.):

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Nov. 2014, at an invited presentation, we were offered a new, and so- called better contract than our existing paid in full contract. After 5 hours of hard sell, we made a down payment, and signed the contract because one clause stared we had 5 days to cancel.

After reviewing the contract, which was for 30 years and $31,000 ( with monthly payments) plus $800/ year maintenance fees, and we have no family, we decided we would cancel. We prepared a handwritten letter and the following day took it to our salesman who refused to accept it. He said paperwork had already been sent to Mexico City, and that the 5 day cancellation policy did not apply to us because it was an amendment. Even though clearly stipulated in the contract and Mexican Law clearly states buyers have 5 day cancellation grace period.

We contacted Visa and upon reading our statements reversed the charges. When we arrived home, we were immediately contacted by Mexico City reps. Welcoming as NEW members. We have tried unsuccessfully to resolve this matter and our past due account has been referred to the Credit Bureau

Now even our original paid in full has been cancelled, and we are left with nothing.

WE ARE 85 AND 90 YEARS OLD, respectively.
