The sad fact but indisputable fact is that there is not going to be any recovery of any money from "Krystal" under any imaginable circumstances. Accordingly, it's surely best to just cut one's losses and walk away with a harsh lesson learned.
To consider pursuing "legal action" in Mexico would unfortunately be a very expensive (and entirely unproductive) venture --- essentially just a fool's errand. What passes for a "legal system" in Mexico is basically just a bad joke anyhow. Not at all funny, but still a joke.
