Can't even give them one star
At an international resort, I am aware of two possible alternatives to reach their attention. 1st, most of these places have a waiting room prior to the meeting. at Branson, I walked into the waiting room and passed out "flyers" CAUTION, DO NOT SIGN ANY FORMS DURING THE MEETING, ETC. placed these forms inside a coupon book and handled out to the waiting individuals, and said,'"be sure to read inside this folder" another method is to go back for another timeshare appt. and during the interview show the sales person your material. 3 days later, I received my check, OR while the meeting is on, ADVISE THE SALES PERSON THAT YOU WILL GO IN AND EXPLAIN TO THE CLIENTS WHAT HAPPEN, AND REFUND YOUR MONEY NOW??

I have had my timeshare with Club Land'or for 12 1/2 years. We have been hit with all types of fees as well as the yearly maintenance fees continues to go up. I have lost money trying to get out of the contract. I had a lawyer review the contract and was told there was no way to get out of it. I can't even donate the timeshare. I'm told the company is too difficult to work with. Can we all get together and somehow band together and get out of this. I am due to retire in a few more years and I know I won't be able to afford this timeshare then. Also, I do not want my children to bear this burden. There must be something we can do as a group.

I too would be interested if there was a class action suit. I have tried to get rid of my timeshare with no results. The fee that Club Land'Or have assessed just last year were astronomical. We have to be in this death trap until 2025. I would like to get out before then, but all of these timeshare sales companies are just as bad as Club Land'Or. Please let me know if you think we can do something together as a unit. I will be more than willing to be a part of the group. These people are predators!

Marya502,
I have had this anchor around my neck since 1983. I never wanted it in the first place. Anyway, I was interested in your comment that you "offered to pay less than half of what my unpaid fees were and they would then cancel my contract. They accepted." I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I stopped paying them anything 2 years ago. Now they are saying that they are going to take me to court.

I am interested in what the current status of lawsuits, etc is for the past few years. I just received a contract release as long as I a pay $16,000 which is equivalent to 20 yrs maintenance fees!! This is a scam, a ponzi scheme and we need to move forward on this! Please post your email address let's get together offline and ban together!

Has anyone on here gone through court for action brought by Land'or and if so would you be willing to share the outcome? Like everyone else, I'm fed up with the maintenance fees, and now, special assessments, for a property that I've seen no evidence of improvements to in forever. Beyond being unfair, there is a question of legality to charge members fees ostensibly to cover costs for improvements that's not actually performed or for expenses not actually incurred? I just sent a letter proposing a one time offer to settle my account and release me so we'll see what happens... thanks

i have approximately $2000 left on my principal but I think my maintenance is until2047. i received in the mail an ad called timeshare cure. When i called them they were well aware of club landor. They stated that i would have to finish paying off my balance then call them back. There number is(888) 821 6607. Hope it will help someone

We have just received this year's maintenance bill and for the first time since 1985 we have decided enough is enough. We have called numerous times. This place is disgusting and our money is not being used for upkeep whatsoever. It is embarrassing to even bring friends or family to this falling apart timeshare. We are wondering if there is a class action suit pending. We can't be the only owners angry over the ridiculous "fees" and "special assessments" but the property deteriorates by the year. Please let us know if there is some ligation pending by anyone and we will be glad to contribute in any way to have these people do the right thing.

Well now you know why they keep nailing you with those special assessments, they need the cash to cover their butts.
You have to wonder, if they aren't making improvements, not paying employees just where is that money going?? Obviously someone is getting very wealthy!!!!

Club Land'or workers to receive delayed salaries, bonuses INDERIA SAUNDERS Guardian Business Reporter inderia@nasguard.com
Published: Dec 11, 2010
Club Land'or has agreed to immediately pay tens of thousands of dollars in delayed salaries and bonuses to its nearly 60 employees,Guardian Businesscan confirm.
The resort's sale status has also been confirmed to union members.
The sum of money represents unpaid salaries from last week that should have come with the seasonal boost, said Darrin Woods, secretary general for the Bahamas Hotel Catering and Allied Workers Union.
"They havesent a letter saying that they will pay the employees forthwith,"he toldGuardian Business."In total, payroll for this is tens of thousands of dollars.
"They assured us that the company is not going anywhere[and]that they are just looking for a strategic partner."
The property was recently put on the market, as the global economy culled occupancy levels for almost all properties on Paradise Island and New Providence. A$45 million price tag is now attached to the sale of the well-known membership club and hotel. It's a change of hands that has made settling issues regarding the employee payments even more pertinent.
Woods added that while the union would closely monitor the situation at the hotel, the"good thing"was that part of the employee contract as it related to pension funds ensured that those obligations would be first preference in a sale of the property or redundancies.
The latest news follows the resort recently being threatened with legal action over tens of thousands of dollars in employee salary deductions for the workers'credit union.
In November, Club Land'or was$50,000 behind in payments to the National Workers Co-operative Credit Union(NWCCU)on behalf of its employees.
"The money has been deducted from salaries, but not sent to the credit union..."President of the NWCCU Alfred Poitier toldGuardian Businessin an earlier interview."It really is in poor taste for a corporate citizen[and]they need to do better." Last Updated on Wednesday, 15 June 2011 16:04

This is just further evidence that Land'Or is a corrupt orginization. Someone, or a few, are getting rich and I refuse to pay any of the special assessment fees until I receive a financial statement to show where the money has been going. It is sure not in the facility or for their employees!
I would not recomend this place to anyone!

I believe the Club is on the verge of bankruptcy and I wish they would hurry up. They were stupid not to sell to Atlantis and they invested all of our "rent" money in money losers. Now they invent new ideas for soaking the renters (us). I beat them legally when they tried the "special assessment", but now if looks like court time again for their latest invention. Luckily, I passed the VA bar. Anyone interested in a class action?
