There are still a few boarded up windows, junk out in the front parking lot, boxes of tile in front of the main entrance, a large crane on site. The good news is, there were several crews inside (I could hear them) and one crew outside working on the renovation. Not knowing what all still needs to be done, I would be shocked if the place is open for business before the Colts lose their second game. If I go by there again, I will give you an update.
We need to contact everyone who owns a week there.
Would you please send me a copy of those pictures? I have a file and many letters regarding my issues. As soon as I figure how to do it I'm going to submit papers for a Class action suit. If any of you want to put your name and address/contact information I will keep a file and list everyone's info if you'd like. Of course if someone else out these knows how to do it...That would be wonderful. Carol
Send me your email address and I will send the eight pictures I have.

Hi Carol,
I own week 10 at Santa Barbara, unit 205. Boyd Long 618 S. 158 St. Omaha, NE 68118 402-758-9397 If I can do anything to help, let me know.

Hello I own week 21 Unit 801 and I would be interested in the class action law suit. Be happy to help in any way I can, just let me know what I can do. I would also like to see the pictures. My email is trishc82@gmail.com.
I am certainly glad to see these posts today. I have felt for years (long before the hurricaine) that Santa Barbara took advantage of their owners, but didn't realize we could do anything about it.
I am a fixed week owner and have never converted to points. I received a letter a few weeks ago saying if I converted to points they would refund/waive the special assesment fees. I did not even call them about it. I am sure the charge to switch over would have exceeded the special assesment not to mention the addtional maintanance fee. Did anyone else get this letter?

My fear is ANOTHER assessment with the overtime that is being incurred to open by Dec 2007. I wonder how many people are going to let their units go because of all of these expenses. 2005 assessment for non payment of owners maintenance. 2006 Maintenance even though the resort was closed 2007 Maintenance even though the resort was closed 2008 Mainenance will be due in November whether the resort opens or not. I think Wyndham's goal is to take their time and then they can take ownership of the resort, they current own 400+. I have been e-mailing John Vitale Area Resort Manager for Santa Barbara with various questions. If you want to e-mail me your e-mail address I will be happy to include you on the copies sent to him. patricia678 wrote:Trish, I got the letter, I own 4 units. They will refund up to $1,000 toward a one bedroom unit assessment, but you have to purchase points in exchange. I wasn't too interested with that, I believe the cost for points for a one bedroom was approximate $9,000. I have included you in my distro for communications to Santa Barbara's resort manager. FYI, I have sent my demand letter to Wyndham and the three resort association members by fax and certified mailing. I have requested most of the infiormation my attorney suggested I ask for. If anyone would like I will post the letter on this site. I am asking for very specific information such as the limits of liability from the resorts insurance policy at the time of the hurricane.

Jeff and Steve,
I own Unit 810, week 7.
My special assessment was $800+ due in June 2007 and have been told to expect another $800+ bill to be due in September. That's more than $1,600 in addition to the $400+ maintenance fees paid in January.
I am interested in joining the lawsuit and willing to help any way I can. We owners certainly have a valid case.
Please send me a copy of the letter and the photos.
Thank you.
