Can't even give them one star
ericb259 wrote:I agree with ericb259!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As of November 30, my case has "officially" been dismissed in Henrico District Court!!!! What a great feeling! Granted I paid CLO $26,900 over the course of 25 years, but that is now over. I can't even imagine what the next 15 years would have cost! This may be a radical and potentially dangerous approach, but I believe that Club Land'Or is desperate for immediate cash (notice christino67 email allowing her out just to get three years of cash.If everyone just stopped sending in their maintenance fees/special assessments/energy surcharge/holdover fees. This would deprive Land'Or of all of its income. Based on news articles, I do not think they could last long enough to bring suit against everyone to collect the money they need before bankruptcy.

Well, Land'or's group of companies has filed lawsuits against individuals who made derogatory statements about them because they couldn't be proven in court. Now you can be held personally responsible and face a multimillion dollar lawsuit for making allegations against them. Turns out the claims made against Colonial Crossings in Williamsburg didn't have merit and a lot of the people who jumped on board there are finding themselves being sued for defamation of character of a public entity (not a lawyer here). The Colonial Crossings lawsuit was flawed because many of the people in the group suing them didn't even own at that resort. All their documents say is that the amenities are proposed and not guaranteed. Land'or is countersuing anybody they can find making defamatory statements against them anywhere. I would assume this forum is no exception.

What are you talking about? I'm in VB area and have heard no such thing. If they are using someone in CA they must have hired them because they have no office there. So show me the cases. Besides, you can' t get sued for truthful statements. You can also find stuff about land or on tripadvisor.com

Ok. The complaints re: Land'Or are: charging enormous fees that no one knows how they are being used, not maintaining the property - we have factual pictures charge additional daily fees if you stay at the property did not put away the funds the Bahama employees were supposed to have available to them Land'Or phones in the Bahamas were disconnected BUT they can afford to hire an IT group to search down people and file suit against them for complaining? Especially in California, across the country from where all of Land'Or does business. Not likely! Not smart use of business funds, but the factual information shows that smart business practices are not the forte of Club Land'Or ownership. If we all had enough time and money to spare to be able to support ourselves while we picketed Land'Or like the Occupy Wall Street (who is suing that group for defamation of character?), what would they do? Yes, Bill, please backup your allegations with facts.
Thank you!

We stayed only one time also and it was runned down and the equipment didn't work and we could barely fit three of us in there. It was a joke/ My daughter called it "The Shack in the Back." When we started getting charged the exhorbitant rates, we refused to pay them. We own at Harbourside and Land 'Or was charging more than them. I explained there was no way that they were any match to the Atlantis and I owned every other year. Now I have learned through their accounting that they have taken our money and somehow displaced it and say we owe more and more and more. We have proof of payments and they refuse to credit our account. We faxed, wrote, e-mailed, and discussed over the phone we wanted a complete and accurate ledger of our account and they would not provide nor show our credits of our payments. They even just turned us over to collectionss. So bring it on baby!! I love for this one to go full force in the open how corrupt they are! Class action suit would be wonderful. These people need to be taken to the cleaners really bad!!!!!! They smell rotten. Please everyone contact the Virginia Dept of Trade and Commerce, The Federal Trade Commision and even your Senators and Represemtatives. C. Otto

Please add us to the list. Not only did we refuse to pay their ridiculous fees but when we kept asking for a complete and accurate invoice of our account, and it was anything but that. We had sent payments to them and also they had debited our account and did not apply the credits. We refused to pay any more until they showed the credits. They would not do it. They turned us over to collections so now it will show their devious tricks and bookkeeping. So we would love to join the class-action suit. There is more to this than over- charging fees. They are hiding and embezzeling money somewhere and the U.S and the Bohemeians need to investigate. They have taken my money and not shown where they put it, except in their pockets. You also might want to review your accounts. They do funny math. We did not get credit for our last three payments which was over $500.00. The attorney can e-mail me at cherylathome@cox.net.
