Yes, to answer earlier question- we were let out free and clear. Don't ask me why. I did go meet with them in person and I also mentioned several times that if needed I would contact an attorney and/or the State Corporation Commission, but can't say that it was the cause of the decision to let us go. At any rate, wish the best outcome for all who still labor...

If there is any group effort to hold the owners' feet to the fire about Club Land'or assessments that are not applied to the property, PLEASE let me know. This spring's "special assessment" arrived recently. To call these blackmail charges "special assessments" is absolutely wrong, as they are in no way "special;" they come like clockwork, and they obviously are not being used to upgrade the property. This one did not even offer an explanation of what it was for. No bad storms last season, so that excuse would not be valid. The lady who called wanting me to pay the bill nearly two months early indicated this "special assessment" was to replace countertops. Given the number of rooms at Club Land'or and a special assessment of $799 per owner, there should be some exquisite countertops in the rooms. Any bets that will happen? My guess is they quit making up excuses to charge owners so there would be no record that might be held against them.

I cancelled my time share in less then 24 hours and reported to police and made complaint to ministry of tourism and real estate financial in the bahamas. Still waiting to get 1495.00 back

kima241 - Did you just join Club Land'or and cancel your contract within the timeframe the law allows or have you been a member? What police did you report to (Bahamas or US) and what did you report? Hope you get your money back soon!!

Kima- if you used a credit card, consider filing a complaint with the credit card company to investigate/fight for you

I put all my payments to Club Land'Or on credit cards. I stopped paying them this past August. I am battling them as well with regard to horrible business, lies, and misrepresentation. Just filed an online BBB complaint. Is it too late to try to do disputes with credit card companies for long ago purchases?

gabrielleb18 - It is probably too late to dispute the charges on your credit card. You need to check the timeframe allowed by your credit card company; however it usually doesn't exceed 90 days. Did you read the info about joining the private group focused on the issues you are having? You have to e-mail Christine at christinelolsen@hotmail.com. You will have to provide a copy of your contract and some additional information. It is a great, legitimate support group.

If you haven't heard back from Christine, check to be sure you entered her e-mail address correctly. May want to copy and paste into your address line. A lot of people leave out the l (lower case L) between the e and o. Will look forward to seeing you as a new member to the group. I think you will find the info helpful!

Like many, I am only now finding this forum. I have been a Club Land'Or owner since 1987. I have seen my annual maintenance fees go from $219.22 to $1172,81 in 2012. I no longer have records of all of the special assessments that I have paid, but they have been numerous and, in my opinion, excessive. My wife keeps telling me to just stop paying it, that we are too small for Club Land'Or to bother with the try to collect.

What I see on the preceding pages of this thread lead me to believe otherwise. I have continued to pay in order to protect my credit. And, I guess I will continue to do so until such time as I can sell or otherwise divest myself of this obligation.

I sent a copy of my contract to Christine, so maybe I will get an invite to join the FB page. I would like to find out what has worked to allow any of you to get released by CLO as I am obligated through 2025 but am fed up with the fees and poor quality of the Paradise Island property.

Hello Christine and everybody. I am back again. I've spoke with you in email before Christine. Today I received a letter from their scumbag lawyer that represents them. I have not heard from them since early to middle of 2012. They kept calling me trying to convey their threats of "pay or else" and I kept telling them to email me any and all communications and that I wanted nothing to do with their scumbag corporation and that I would never use the time share and have no intentions of ever paying them another dime. It even got to the point to where I would be rude/disgusting with the person on the phone and they would still continue to call me instead of emailing me any communications at all.

I am so sick of this company. Here is a copy of the letter they mailed me. I have 0 problems with my address and name being shown to the public either.

Do you guys have any advice at all? I am currently dealing with child support and child custody court with two corrupt judges over my 2 year old son that is being alienated by his sorry excuse of a mother who beats him and this really puts a big grin on my face to sarcastically say.

P.P.S I should probably point out it says I only owe $413, but I have not paid anything probably since February~ of 2012, and my payments were supposed to be around $150/month plus those stupid quarterly dues they force. Makes me wonder what they are trying to scam now.

I see they have now edited their website to take out the disney imagineers made underground water park they bragged so big about developing. This is probably one of the dirtiest companies I have had the pleasure of dealing with in my entire life.
