Something needs to be done and since all seemed to have had the same results, perhaps it's time. It seems apparent that Omega Marketing Solutions was busy during the months from October 2006 thru March 2007 in all our cases.

By the time that we were all ripped off...they have had the time to disappear! It would appear that a class action suit is in order here.

What address did you have for Omega? The address I have is 36181 East Lake Suite #30 Palm Harbor, FL 34685

However, the envelope I received was mailed in St. Pete.

I have been considering Omega Marketing Solutions to rent out my weeks. Now that I have read all this I am thinking twice. I do have a different address for them. 1800 Drew Street Suite B Clearwater, FL 33765 727-230-1920 866-380-5163

Good Luck to all of you with getting your money back. And thank you for all the info that will now prevent me from falling into the same trap.

Why don't you just rent your weeks here on Redweek? I have had success with them and the price is very reasonable. As long as you aren't expecting to make a huge profit on your rental, you should be able to rent them.

Many people make the huge error of paying upfront fee companies to list or sell their weeks. Once the company has your money, they have absolutely no incentive to do anything for you;therefore, you are out the money and they don't connect your property with a buyer or renter. These people are lazy. They want money and don't want to work for it.

I actually sell timeshares for a resale company similar to this "Omega" and I hear this type of stuff all the time. The fact is you listened to the idea, had a chance to consider it, probably looked at the company info first, paid for the service, signed for it, and now you regret it so you're looking for someone to pin your frustrations on. You're frustrated that your resort won't help you, a realtor won't touch it and you can't sell it. You paid for someone to advertise something that's hard to sell and because they aren't bringing you the offers you want, you say you were scammed. No lawyer will say you have a case but good luck. Bottom line--Buyer's remorse

It sounds as though your company has the same qualities as Omega. You seem to be proud of this fact. Pitty!

Thereby confirming that you are probably as shady as the rest of them! Everyone is out for a quick buck and if they can find some poor unsuspecting souls to prey upon, then it is obvious that there are many of you based upon your comment. YOU should be ashamed of YOURSELF rather then make US feel as if WE are the bad guys! The world is full of scheisters! You take pride in being one? Bottom Line: Shame on you!

The companies that post on Redweek are scam artists! I don't know how a rent-it-yourself/buy-it-yourself, quality site like Redweek could put up with these shill posters. What a terrible forum! You need to revamp your forums to match the standard format that Timeshare Forums and TUG use, then you need to control these advertisements. These companies are hurting Redweek's business.

Freedom of speech is not a good excuse for these guys to post here. They are advertising their product in your store! You don't see people going into Olive Garden, advertising Macaroni Grill at the top of their lungs. You have the right to stop these guys from posting this stuff. Please do it! It is such a slimy product they are selling here. : ( Same with Global Resorts Network that is advertising elsewhere on this site.

Marty, are you able to stop these guys? It's bad enough that we all get the phone calls from upfront fee companies. They are using this as a free advertising source.

It seems that you have misunderstood this topic? Redweek is a legetimate timeshare rental/resale company and this is where we have found solace in our debacle. I agree that there have been 3 or so postings that have elluded to the right of those that are questionable in their business practices and in these postings, those are the same companies that we are here, attempting to expose. Redweek has given us the arena to excercise demons in the industry which they can be proud to say that they are NOT a part of. They are not hurting Redweeks business; on the contrary, they are helping it; by having a legetimate company to turn to as a trustworthy alternative in the TS industry! Let the illegetimate post, thereby exposing themselves for who they truly are.

I believe that Redweek members, with the help of all those that try to educate here, are beginning to recognize shills due to the replies to those shills from other Redweek members.

The word is getting out via Redweek that you do not do business with upfront fee resale companies and to be aware of postcard companies and their unsavory practices (although I agree there is a market for such companies, my problem is what they charge to take your timeshare off your hands of $3000+).

As far as shills posting here in the forums, there are many members that now call them out and put them in their place as it should be. That's what forums are for (Education = Knowledge = Power for the consumer).

First of all read my post above.

Secondly, Redweek's forums are still in their infancy. Tug's forums are several years old as they began as a small BBS in the late 1990s. Knowing Redweek's reputation concerning upgrading, they will one day tweak their forums for better surfing and searching for information. Rome wasn't built in a day. They are now focusing on their exchange option.

Thirdly, Redweek does not have all the free help (volunteers) that Tug has to monitor all posts. Redweek forums has only ONE MODERATOR that more than likely has other Redweek and Classmates.com duties to perform.

It's up to us members to alert to other Redweek members any shills that may be posting here.

There you go again with your high and mighty attitude that Redweek's forums are terrible.

Why is it so important to you that RedWeek use the same forum as other companies use. If you're so happy with the other forums why do you come to RedWeek. They are happy with their foremat and so, I might add, are a lot of others. If you have something better to offer start your own site.

There's no one that wants improvements to our forums more then me but resources have been spent on the exchange program as of late.

I don't work for Classmates any more but my duties here at RedWeek.com are much more then the forums. So we greatly appreciate all of you exposing the companies that aren't good for the owners. Plus, all the helpful answers to questions are fantastic. Thank you all!!

Thank you so much Marty! It's been wonderful to have a place to turn to! It is because of this site and this forum, that I found out about OMS. Had it not been for this site, I would have no idea that others were experiencing the same. Thank you for your support!

I was contacted by these jerks a few months ago the man on the phone told me it would cost over 2 thousand dollars to sell my timeshare. He went on to tell me that I had to pay this fee in advance because of some law even went so far as to give me statute numbers. I told my Son-in-law who happens to be a lawyer about this and he told me there was no such law and that these people are acting criminally. Needless to say I didn't give him my credit card. Now I find this post about them confirming what I had suspected. You should all file a report with your state prosecuter's office. Good luck to you all.

Wow, this is the largest upfront fee ($2000) I have ever seen. He was spouting BS concerning any statute or law. The lies they will tell are atrocious.

A BIG Thank you to everyone who took the time to post reviews regarding Omega Marketing. My wife came home yesterday very excited because she had just spoken to one of Omega's scam artists. He promised quick sales for us totaling in excess of 12,000. I wanted to check them out first and came across all of your reviews, needless to say I will never do business with them and I also plan to call the so-called salesman and give him a piece of my mind for trying to scam my wife. Thanks again to all for your posts and good luck with getting your hard earned money returned to you.

I just got off the phone and gave this company my credit card number. If I call the bank in the morning, they can't charge my account, can they? Are they really a scam? Has your situation improved?

Thanks, Aleta

jacka35, was that a joke? That number is to a sex phone line.

Also, stop putting phone numbers to upfront fee companies here.

Aletas3, call your credit card company and get the charge taken off as soon as possible. This is a scam; all upfront companies are scams. No exceptions.

According to past messages that I've read, you have 7 days to cancel the contract. Under Federal guidelines, you have a minimum of 72 hours to stop the purchase. I would suggest that you call both Omega and your credit card company. If you have the ability to make copies of these e-mails, do so and send them to your bank with your next bill.

One more thing, make sure that you document the time and day you call Omega back as you may not be able to reach a live contact. Make sure you mark the call on your next phone bill also. Make sure you keep records of any contacts you make dealing with this situation. DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT.

I too have been contacted by Omega Marketing Solutions, aka Omega Timeshares and they tried ripping me off for over $700. I was told that they needed this money to process the paperwork to do my sale. I know without a doubt that no one should pay upfront to sell a timeshare whether there is a better alternative or not. The representative who tried scamming me told me that this $700 was for advertising as well as "document preparation". He said that it paid for transfers, recording, title work, and that I had to hire one of their attorneys to subpoena documents. It was a total crock and the guy, David Bell, actually sounded as if he believed his own lies. He told me that they sold timeshares the same way that I bought mine through a presentation at the resort. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN DO THIS IS THE RESORT!!!!!! These people are nothing but scammers and they are pathetic. They have probably never sold a timeshare in their life. I'd like to know how many people have really sold theirs using OmegaMarketingSolutions.com. Can anyone look into this question? Shouldn't they be able to provide some statistics on that matter. The guys name was David Bell and his number was 866-380-5163
