Things to do in Key West
Okay - Besides hanging at the GALLEON pool, at the beach or having a drink at the TIKI bar. There are many things to do (with kids, too)! Highlights include The Butterfly Garden (follow the Monarch story), Southern Most Point, touring the Hemingway House (the cats are great!), Playing the ' Hook Game ' at the Galleon TIKI Bar (go see!), Riding the Tour Train (Great way to get a fast look and to make an itinerary for the rest of the week), Key West Aquarium (pet a shark!), playing BINGO at the Galleon Poolside, Mallory Square at sunset, and taking a boat ride (sunset, snorkling).
Now I need some help from the rest of you to update this list and give some suggestions of THINGS TO DO IN KEY WEST!

Also go visit the gorgeous bird at the HYATT (right next door to the GALLEON) named 'ODE'. He is a trained Macaw and is great for some entertainment. You can also go visit the Turtles and ask the HYATT front desk for some turtle food.

I constantly see References that you dont need a car when you are at the Galleon. Short sighted and you miss the entire Key West Experience. Stock Island's great up and coming restaurants (HogFish, etc) and the golf course is necessary to many. Try walking to the better Restaurants (Blue Heaven for Breakfast) Cars are cheap and you have to have one. You CAN walk everywhere on KW (except new town) but you did not have the Key West Experience.

You don't absolutely need a car to enjoy all of Key West. It's a long walk to many highlights but a bike really makes it enjoyable. Rent right at the Galleon but do some price shopping first. You can also rent every other means of conveyance like scooters, electric cars, etc. If golf or fishing are your game, or if you would like to experience the best lunch or dinner of your life at Little Palm Island on Little Torch Key then a car is necessary. You can rent short term on the island.

The second floor open bar at the Westin is a great place to view the sunset - very comfortable chairs
If you haven't been to the Schooner Wharf Bar you are missing the essence of Key West
Rent a scooter and go to the crepe restaurant, or the Blue Heaven - across the street - corner of Thomas & Petronia
Kelly's restuarant always has great meals
Our favorite activity is to just start walking and see what you find!

Don't be put off by Bo's Sandwich Place across from Pepe's, argueably the funkiest joint in town. Good food and a good photo op backdrop. And. of course there's Pepe's. The Eco Museum over at the sub basin in the Truman Annex is a very interesting take. And don't forget the Little White House tour. In addition to the Duval Crawl, do the gallery crawl. There's some great art work by local artists up & down Duval, Caroline, Greene and several other streets. Lastly go over to Hurricane Hole and rent kayaks for a backcountry paddle or mini power boats or take a snorkeling tour. After 25 years we haven't depleted the entertainment supply.
