Denver

We are going to Denver this summer for a vacation. What are the recommendation on things to do and see while we are there? Any good day trips?

We just came back from six days in Colorado Springs where I lived for eleven years back in the fifties!

It will make for long days but you should go to Colorado Springs area for few days! You have Pikes Peak and you can drive or take the cog out of Manitou like we did and it was great. We had snow hit while on top and our daughter loved it!

You can go to Cave of the Winds and the Cliff Dwellings and Garden of the Gods all in the Manitou area. You have Seven Falls and you can spend day at Royal Gorge and take in Buckskin Joes western town. We had great lunch there and looking around I couldn't believe how many movies had been shot in the area and many pictures on the walls of John W( Duke) and others!

Also stopped at the little ghost town leaving Manitou going to Colorado Springs. Its set up very cute and you can take pictures and spend a hour looking around! And of coarse you can go up to Crepple Creek.

From Denver you have Vale area and understand Estes Park nice little town to visit!

We wanted to go watch the Colo Rockies play but ran out of time our day in Denver.
