Marriott's St. Kitts Beach Club

Just Returned (17-24 NOV)

Fabulous resort! Villas with flat screens /dvd in each room, spacious, great staff, excellent restaurants.

A self contained resort with options to explore if needed. A wonderful resort for all ages. Friendly and very safe islanders and can walk outside the resort for other food alternatives. KIDS BONUS: Kids 4 and under eat for free on the property !!!

Next time: I will maximize our checked luggage and pack drinks (water, soda, gator-ade) as a can of anything ran about $2.50. Family of four, so that can add up.

Tips: Watch the weight of your luggage on your return. $50 per bag over 50 lbs. Liquor cheaper in town and much cheaper at the duty free shops in San Juan PR. If you buy in San Juan, you can carry it on to your connection and you won't have to pack it in your checked luggage.

Happy to share experience / answer questions.

We are planning to go in April as a couple and own a second there we might rent. With your having been there: Do we need a car? Are cabs available reasonably? How many does the 2 br timeshare actually sleep? Can staff gain access while you're there? Were laundry washers & dryers in the unit? You mentioned off-property shopping...where is it? We tend to eat out at night...are there good choices off as well as on the property? How were the prices you found them? Bill Blau wilblau@comcast.net

No car required / cabs are cheap and they drive on the UK (right) side of the road - so may be dangerous for those not used to that. Cabs are readily available and the cab dispatch office if right down the road as well.

Check out: http://www.vacationclub.com/resorts/kt/default.jsp

1 master suite with king 1 second bedrooom with 2 single beds 1 pull out couch in fam room

1 mid-week clean/tidy service and more avail for a fee. Staff access only during that time, like a hotel.

We went to town 1 day where there are local markets and outdoor malls. There is a new cruise terminal geared toward shopping right off the boats + you can book similar type excursions through the hotel.

Eating is not cheap - it's the Islands and what you are used to has to imported. But prices are not crazy. Figure on $30per person plus or minus based in dish, drink, etc. Lobster/Seafood Awesome! Sugar Shack down the road is right on the beech with excellent lobster/seafood and favorite of most. We walked just over 1 mile I believe.

We loved the resort/island and cannot wait to go back.

Good Luck!

We were told the 2nd bedroom would have a queen size bed and sleep sofa, but the place sleeps 6 comfortably. That will work for a rental.

We read comments about staff stealing personal possessions. I found it hard to believe, but anything's possible. If there is a safe for wallets and passports, how does it lock?

Sounds like we can expect to have a lot of fun. Thank you again. Bill Blau

Our 2B had 2 Balconies and the spare actually had 2 full beds. There are 2B with 1 balcony, which may have a different configuration.

Not sure about stealing. We felt very safe, but also are careful to not leave our unit unlocked or valuables out. There is a digital safety box in the closet. Easy to use.

Having the hotel/resort on the propery increases the number of staff available. We found this to be a great service. Perhaps others had a problem, but woulndn't let that negatively influence your trip. Take simple steps and you'll be fine.
