Trip for family with teens beginning of March/08
karenc294 asks: >>Can anyone suggest a good warm (perferrably Carribean or Hawaii)destination for family of 4 with two teenage girls. Would like to stay reasonablly priced(must consider airfare), and can you suggest good avenues for airfare from Detroit.<< ================================================
With all due respect, booking either good timeshare resort lodging and/or reasonable airfare for either the Caribbean or Hawaii, only about 60 days in advance at this point, will be a difficult task.
If you are a RCI member, you might get lucky and find last minute availabilty somewhere via "Last Call" or "Extra Vacations". You might also find (due to late cancellation or other change of plans) a week advertised on RedWeek, MyResortNetwork, TUG or TS4MS. However, even if you find late timeshare availability, you'll likely still get massacred on the airfare portion. I wish you luck....you may very well need lots of it to accomplish your described objectives.

March is spring break time for most colleges and high schools in the USA, therefore it's a very popular vacation time for families. You can check all the rental sites on the internet (starting now) for anything available in the locations you desire but you may have to pay a premium price. Many families head for the Caribbean or Hawaii that time of year to escape the cold and snow.
Concerning airfares, you can also check online with airlines out of Detroit for your destination for whatever timeframe you reserve/rent a week. You can check for free ... you don't have to purchase until you're ready to buy tickets.
I prefer booking airfare online rather than at the ticket counter ... much less hassle, and with many arilines you can choose the seats you prefer online (ie: all your family sitting together).

Mike, good info above, I've also used www.travelocity.com to compare airfares. I love the comparison feature of these travel related sites.
