Our home away from home

We have been owners at LaQuinta for seven years now, since we found a unit for sale on Ebay. Having been to the island for twenty years, we knew the beach and location well, so we took a chance. After spending our first week there, we bought two more weeks and now we rent on either end, allowing us to stay five weeks at our "home away from home." After reading the discussions on this site, I noted of the dates on each entry and the expectations of the writers. Perhaps the resort has made numerous improvements, or it may be that the visitors would have been happier at a larger, more "American style" resort. Obviously, there are stark differences between LaQuinta and the Marriot or the Hyatt. For those of us who want personal service, a relaxing atmosphere, and a huge, private section of Eagle beach, LaQuinta has it all. Our chi-chi huts are always available without getting up at 5 am and waiting in line for a chaise. Someone sets up our places as we arrive, whenever that is. We also find most of the guests to be friendly, considerate, and happy to be there. If we decide to spend some time in the fast, luxury lane, we simply visit the high rises for dinner or shopping. The contrast is overwhelming. I guess we are just three star kind of people- comfort, economy, and location! Suzanne Cape Cod
