Diamond Resorts Int to acquire Island One/Club Navigo

We own week 16 at the Charter Club of Naples and received an email from Diamond about the potential acquisition of Island ONe. Not one word has been said by IO/CN, we are in the dark. Our week is points based. Any ideas what may be coming our way with this acquisition? Owning a timeshare bought under the idea of having all sorts of options/places to go has been a real albatross at times, is it going to get worse with Diamond Resorts? The choices you have now will very likely not change. Diamond will pressure you to join The Club and also expect maintenance fees to go up. Diamond tends to buy properties needing some TLC and raises fees to upgrade them to their standards. When they took over Sunterra we were shocked at the maint fee raises but the upgrades to the resorts was worth it.

I also owned a resort that was part of a small group. Diamond took over and yes the maintenance fees have gone up. You will still have access to all the resorts that you had available in the past. If you wish to become a full Diamond owner and have access to all the resorts they have (approx. 275 worldwide) you will have to spend approx. $3000 and of course get more points per year to pay maintenance on but then can travel to any of their resorts. also as a complete diamond member you have free GOLD membership in II every year. I think in the long run you are lucky to have Diamond as the new owner over some of the others out there.

I think you are about to be royally screwed. Ask us former ILX owners who were sold out to Diamond Resorts. Your maintenance fees will increase greatly, beyond any hope of getting good value from your ownership. They will attempt to sell you more and more of their product. Don't join their club and don't believe what they tell you. This is a shark attack. Search on this forum for postings about Diamond and Steve Cloobeck.

Did you get your 2015 maintenance fee bill yet? How was that for you?
