Notification after 10 years of nothing

Recently received a bill for past due maintenance fees, etc. after hearing nothing from the resort for over 10 years. What gives? I was of the opinion out of sight out of mind, and frankly had forgotten all about it. Anyone try to negotiate on their own with resort company?

It's possible that the resort was just sold to another company and they are clearing their books . I would call them and inquire . you might be able to negotiate an exit with them but you will never know unless you contact them .
