Are you serious, or are you just joking around?
Maintenance fees (not magic, not divine intervention, not the timeshare fairy) are what pay to OPERATE a timeshare property, day in and day out, 24/7, 365 days a year. This includes (but is not limited to) paying for electricity, water & sewer, property insurance, groundskeeping, real estate taxes, appliance repairs and replacements, furniture, bedding, televisions, pool maintenance, heating and air conditioning equipment service and replacement, plumbing repairs, cable TV, door and window replacements, Internet service and on site staff for cleaning and property management. I could go on, but you may by now have already concluded that the answer is “No, there is no free lunch”.
