Location, location, location! I've been an owner at this resort for over ten years, purchasing it when it was under construction. The units ARE technically trailers because the location along the Napa river flood zone means that they couldn't get a permit to build permanent units. What that means is that there are not a lot of choices for staying in the town of Napa. My friends and I are really impressed with the design of the units and the gardening of the grounds. It is both comfortable and attractive. The pool and hot tub are nice, the gas grills posted conveniently around the property make it easy to enjoy the bounty of this very food-focused region at your own convenience, and the beds are comfortable. But most important of all, this is a wonderful home base for visiting Napa and Sonoma's wineries. The town of Napa has improved dramatically over the years, now boasting wonderful restaurants and shops as well as two major attractions: COPA The Center for Wine, Food and the Arts, and the brand new Oxbow Public Market which opened in January '08. This market was founded by a project manager of the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace and promises to offer the same level of quality food and shopping.

Bottom line, if you are looking for something less expensive in Sonoma/Napa where you will still have a good night's sleep and a clean and comfortable visit in a beautiful setting, stay at Riverpointe and spend your money instead on wine and food.

This resort looks more like a trailer park, each unit is a separate trailer. The accomidations are nicely furnished and great for 2 people, 4 people would be very crowded. The kitchen has no stove but there are numerous barbeques available. This isn't a resort with activities but if all you need is a place to stay while visiting the wineries enjoy.

My wife and I have stayed at this resort for the last four years. While the room's or trailers are small we find them to be comfortable and quiet. The facility itself is very well staffed and helpful. Anyone that wants to get a lot for their buck in a well presented vacation resort will find that this place is a nice surprise. Napa's other resorts are much more expensive and you do not get that same family feeling. We especially like that the resort has winneries come in the evenings and offer tasting. This facility is also friendly towards families with chuldren. Older travelers will also find it comfortable and easy to get around.

Yesm these are park models (trailer homes) for a good reason-- THEY ARE IN A FLOOD PLAIN! So when Napa River overflows the park models can be moved out of harm's way. They are the most efficiently set up units you will ever find and while small in size everything is there! The location is just great, the staff and services offered exceptional. Go for the wine tasting party, do a winery tour and simply enjoy the beauty of Napa Valley!

I enjoyed this resort with one exception. They had 2 parties (weddings?) booked the week I was there and the loud music was very irritating. Other than that, it was very relaxing, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location ideal for visiting the wine country and historic downtown Napa.

The accomodations are refurbished mobile (trailer?) homes but they are much nicer than that desription. Each has its own deck with ample barbecue area. Pretty setting right next to the Napa River. Close enough to all of the wineries & fabulous restaurants but set back far enough so the traffic is not disturbing. We only live an hour from Napa & usually stay in Yountville but I would definately go back and stay here. It was a great getaway!!

This is not a luxury resort, but if you're after a friendly, comfortable & clean place to relax in between activities, Riverpointe won't disappoint you. Be prepared for small units that look like nicely decorated shoeboxes. (They are actually trailers in disguise - during rainy season the nearby river sometimes overflows and the units are moved). I think our unit was the standard size, and it could not easily accomodate more than two. But the king size bed was a nice surprize and very very comfortable. The pool and hot tub areas are pleasant and well-maintained. There is also a sauna and small excercise room. In some areas the landscaping is lovely, but other areas could really use some work.

Some staff members were friendlier and more helpful than others but overall we felt like appreciated guests. There was a printed invitation in our unit regarding timeshare ownership but no one approached us in any other way.

The resort description says there are hiking and biking trails on site - there is one trail that goes along the river for a bit, but there is not much to it. Biking on the nearby Silverado Trail though, is a challenge and fun.

There are many many wonderful wineries and restaurants in the area, and so much to see and do within an hour of the resort. In a week of eating out twice a day, we had only two somewhat disappointing meals. It's always best to find the less traveled routes - California traffic is unreal! For the first time in our travels, we purchased and extensively used two guides - one for Napa and Sonoma, and the other for San Francisco. They were a tremendous help in planning our days.

I'd rate this resort somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. The lack of luxery was its downfall, but I would definitely stay there again. We were there in the second week of October and it was ideal - great weather and off-season for tourists.
