I am Stu Schwartz, an owner, Board Director and Treasurer of the Cypress Pointe Resort at Lake Buena Vista Condominium Association.
In reply to the recent update regarding Cypress Pointe Resort and an alleged management problem. Ourresort does not allow animals/pets. It is clearly stated on every fact sheet, on the web and even includes an acknowledgment of that policy at check in. The size of the animal isn't the issue, it is the ban that applies to all owners and guests.
The cleaning process required to ensure that the next owner/guest, who depends on the policy to guarantee an animal dander, fur, hair, etc free unit that can be safely used without worry of allergic reaction or other negative is same no matter what the size of the animal or the time period involved. After years of dealing with this occasional issue the resort has a thorough procedure that carries a flat rate of $250 to fully complete. That is on top of the regular cleaning required for each unit after a use is completed.
The resort management regrets that the guest felt this policy somehow reflects that we do not care about her vacation, as nothing could be further from the truth. We regret that this occurred but the policy is clear and was not applied to punish this guest in any way. To somehow blame management and the resort as being uncaring for a guest violating a clearly stated policy does not seem fair. We would welcome the guest back on any future visits, but without any pet.
