Renting Your Timeshare FAQ

I'm new to RedWeek, how do I rent my timeshare?

Welcome! Renting is easy - just make a reservation with your resort, then post that week for rent! You can choose to do it yourself where you handle everything, or use our full-service option where we make it much easier for you. Our online booking feature was custom-built for timeshare owners and includes a rental agreement, so you don't have to worry about a thing.

How should I price my timeshare for rent?

Pricing is an art. When you use the full-service option, we can help you price it to maximize value and increase the probability of it successfully renting. You can also see historic rentals at your property with our "What's My Timeshare Worth" tool.

How do I take payment from my renter?

When you use RedWeek's online booking, we handle the payment entirely for you! Your renter pays us before you even finalize the booking, and you get paid automatically two business days after they check-in. If you choose to handle it yourself, you will need to arrange to take payment from your renter on your own.

Do I need my own rental contract?

No! With rentals using RedWeek's online booking system - such as full-service - we build the rental agreement for you, so it's completely painless. Your renter will agree to the terms online with their payment before we pass to you for approval, so you will only deal with serious booking requests that have already agreed to the terms.

If you choose not to use online booking, you will need your own contract. Your renter is not likely to feel comfortable sending payment without a formalized agreement.

Do I need to collect taxes?

Many jurisdictions do require timeshare owners to collect and remit sales and lodging taxes when renting. If you use online booking, we partner with Avalara to collect and remit taxes for you. If you don't, you will need to research, collect, and remit on your own.

What if I don't have a reservation yet?

You will have the best chance of success if you post a confirmed reservation with online booking. We highly recommend reserving the best week available to you before posting your rental.

How much does it cost?

Full-service rentals are only $59.99 upfront, plus a $99 fee that you only pay when you get a successful rental payout. Other options start at $39.99, but come with far fewer benefits and a much shorter run-time. A RedWeek membership ($18.99 for a full year) is required to add any rental posting type.

Can I rent out my RCI or Interval International exchange week?

No, both companies prohibit this practice. Next time, post your timeshare for rent instead of giving it to RCI or II.

An active RedWeek Membership ($18.99) is required for the purchase of all postings
1 Due to processing time required, postings are removed 10 days prior to check-in
