We stayed a week in November and had a good time. The rooms need updating, but are still servicable, especially for someone who wants to get out and do things.
The location is awesome-- right on the beach, within walking distance of John's Pass, easy driving distance to great state parks at Honeymoon Island and Fort DeSoto, and with lots of fun restaurants near by.
But the room should have been updated 20 years ago, with uneven, cracked tile on the floor, grimy armrests on the furniture, and appliances that look older than I am. It's plain that they don't put any money into the rooms. The staff was not particularly helpful or friendly when we approached them with questions.
But the location is so good that I would consider going back.
