We stayed in a 3BR beach front room with
180-degree of the ocean over spring break 2007.
The sunsets were amazing. The suite was big, but
the furniture was dated. I had a problem with
the smell of mildew in our suite. I think this
must be from the hurricane damage that cannot be
cleared. Interestingly, only the women noticed
the smell.
The location of the resort is good. Local buses
passed the hotel every 3 to 5 minutes. There were
numerous restaurants within a 5 to 10-min walk
from the hotel. We took the local buses to
Wal-mart to get our groceries. The buses were
safe, and I think it was good for our kids to see
the cultural differences and way of life of the people
in Mexico. One tip that we discovered
late into our trip was that the central bus
station in town sold chartered bus tickets to all
of the resorts at about half of the cost of the
tours. The disadvantage is that you will have to
take a bus to the main station and get on the
chartered bus. The advantage is that you will not
be stopping at 25 hotels for drop off of all guests
when you return.
The
children's recreation program at poolside and the
beach was great at this resort. Felix kept our
kids busy with activities and prizes on the
afternoons that we were here. He
had them
playing ping-pong, volleyball, water-polo and
multiple other games. These activities introduced
our kids to others from all over.
Renting jet skis
and booking local fishing excursions were
reasonable. This is not a luxurious resort but a
nice and simple resort for families.
