We love Door County. One of the top destinations in the United States and other countries. The resort is on Kangaroo Lake and has numerous activities. Free us of boats, kyaks and bikes.

We have been coming here since 1999. The Rushes is a one-of-a-kind resort. You are treated like family, and the amenities including the pool , hot tub, and water toys (Hobie Cats, kayaks, paddleboards and paddle boats) are all included. The 100 acre Rushes Wilderness Preserve right on the property is truly magnificent, with endless well-groomed trails, a place to really get away from it all.

The Rushes is situated on Kangaroo Lake and is in the heart of Door County. The resort units are spacious with a wood burning fireplace and all the amenities you need, just bring your food and clothes. Their is an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and exercise room as well as 100 acre forest with 5 miles of hiking trails that are used for cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Peaceful surroundings with abundance of wildlife. Bring your family and enjoy!!!

We bought our fixed week 26 for many of the same reasons that the previous posters have expressed.

One other main reason we bought is the free use of our resorts sail boats, kayaks, wind surfering boards, row boats, etc for us, our guests or renters on the uncrowded sparkeling 1,000 acre Kangraoo Lake.

    On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate it a solid 9+.

My wife and I have been owners of five fixed weeks at the Rushes for close to fifteen years. For the reasons detailed below, WE RATE THIS RESORT AS BEYOND OUTSTANDING!!

We have found the Rushes to be the most beautiful of all the timeshares in which we have stayed. However, when we have chosen to trade a week through RCI, we have had excellent results. The Rushes has the highest possible rating with RCI, which allowed us to trade into very hard to get timeshares in places such as Sedona, AZ and San Diego, CA. The Rushes’ trade value speaks volumes as to the value of a Rushes week and the quality of units.

The units are very well maintained. This resort also has many free activities available such as kayaks, sailboats, tennis, cross-country skiing etc. The indoor pool and steam room are also very enjoyable as are the private beach areas.

The Rushes is located in a peaceful setting on Kangaroo Lake in Door County, Wisconsin. This area has, because of its quaint fishing villages, been very favorably compared to areas in New England.

Being on a lake and next to a private nature preserve, the Rushes abounds in wildlife. One example is the pet squirrel that would come and sit on our laps and take peanuts out of our hands. He had to, however, compete with the raccoons that would also come to the back deck area.

The management of the Rushes is the best we have ever encountered. They are conscientious, very friendly and helpful.

Do yourself a favor. Visit the Rushes. You won’t be disappointed!

I have been an owner of the rushes from the beginning of the development and it is hard to find a comparison. We have stayed at many resorts over the last 20 years since we bought at the rushes so I consider us relatively well informed on time shares. The rushes is a welcome break from the very busy door county tourist areas in the summer. Very secluded and not a big type of public resort like christmas mountain

I spent week #46 (November 15-22, 2003) at The Rushes in Bailey's Harbor, Door County, WI.. Door County in the off season is VERY quiet and many of the boutiques, restaurants and attractions for which the penninsula is famous are closed and shuttered..

The resort has WONDERFUL units that are very much like a residence including LARGE, spacious rooms, an attached garage, 2-bedrooms, 2- bathrooms, full kitchen, washer & dryer and wood burning fireplace.. the units are clean, well maitained and attractively decorated.. the staff is competent and friendly.. the resort is sold-out and an on-site sales representative is available to discuss resale units which have well maintained value..

The resort includes an indoor swimming pool, a sauna with whirlpool and health facility, hiking trails, it is located on a large lake and is near several state parks with beaches on Lake Michigan..I rate this resort as a 9... Joe Tragesser

Stayed in this location several years ago. The units are wonderful. Two story townhouse type with a garage, large balcony that overlooked the tree tops. We were there in early March and could not use the outdoor facilities much. We enjoyed the indoor pool area and the beautiful fireplace in the unit. The master bedroom is upstairs and is very spacious. The Door County area in Wisconsin is lovely even in the winter and we would return to this resort any time!
