We’ve owned this place for many years and mostly use it ourselves. It’s one of those places you never really get tired of going back to—it’s just beautiful.
The reason you don’t see this resort rented out very often is because it’s very quaint and unique. In fact, the resort actually bought back most of the timeshares from previous owners over the years. We held onto ours, so it’s one of the very few remaining privately owned units there.
If you compare it to many other resorts on the island, you’ll notice a big difference. Most of the others are huge properties with hundreds of rooms, which means lots of people and crowds. Amsterdam Manor is the opposite, small, private, and relaxed, with its own beach. It really gives you that authentic island feel rather than the typical large Mexico-style resort experience.
We’re renting our two-bedroom unit for a very reasonable nightly rate. The resort completely renovated all the rooms within the last two years, so everything feels fresh and updated. The unit itself is very large and is both poolside and ocean side.
You really can’t go wrong with this one. Opportunities like this don’t come up often, so it probably won’t last long.
