We have stayed at this resort 3 tiimes over
the last five years. The resort was purchased
out of bankruptcy by the owners a few years
back. The units here at the Pointe have all
been redecorated. They are nice and
comfortable. The fireplace is nice to have in
the livingroom. There are only 4 units here so
if you like seclusion in the woods with a view
of the lake, this place is great. The unit also
has a one car garage which is handy if you
are bringing your snowmobile. There is
nothing at this site for amenities but a short
12 mile drive to the Telemark Resort gives you
their pool, spa, restaurant and lounge. The
Resort lodge has come a long way since being
purchased by the homeowner association.
The restaurant is good and the lounge is a fun
place to meet. The ski-hill was a short rope-
tow only last time we were there. A 1/2 day
trip to Ashland or Hayward is a fun side
excursion if staying for the week. There is also
a great restaurant located at the Garmish
Resort, about 2 miles west on the highway
from the Pointe. They have excellent Friday
Fish and Saturday Prime Rib. Garmish is an
original Northwoods Lodge with fabulous
views of the lake from their dining room. We
try to pick up extra weeks at this resort
whenever they are available and we have
vacation time coming. Bring a deck of cards
and some boardgames and relax. NOTE:
check-in for these units is Sunday. The grocery
store in Cable is only open very limited hours
on sundays. Suggest stopping on the way for
groceries in Hayward or plan on eating out
sunday night till the store opens on Monday.
