Silverwoods at Treasure Lake Reviews & Ratings

I have stayed at numerous timeshares, and was an RCI guests at this resort. This timeshare is located in a subdivision of two thousand middle class homes surrounding a lake and two golf courses. The topography is slightly rolling and forested. You check in at the office just before the main gate. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. I do not recommend arriving after 7PM or dark because the route to the timeshare is complicated and there are deer crossing the roads. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive from the front gate to Silverwoods at Treasure Lake timeshare. Our unit was built about in the 1970s and located in a row of units with common walls, but quiet. It included a living room kitchen combination with a sofa sleeper, fireplace, a small 20-24 inch TV, access to the internet, a bathroom with shower. Our unit had a deck overlooking the golf course. Upstairs the master bedroom includes a queen-sized bed with small TV and another bedroom with twin beds. Both rooms shared a bath with tub & shower and open onto a balcony overlooking the golf course and in other units the woodlands. There does not appear to be any management on location other than at the front gate. Parking is in front of your unit, which makes loading handy. There is an outside charcoal grill. We found our unit generally clean and well furnished, but dated and slightly worn. We did not partake of the recreational facilities. They are scattered, generally large, extensive and serve the entire residential surrounding community. DuBois is located about two miles away with a super Walmart and many dinning restaurants and fast food restaurants. The adjoining 18 holes of golf with cart costs about $32-37 and includes a driving range with a bag of balls for $5.00. Treasure Lake is somewhat isolated from amusement parks, museums, entertainment venues. We drove 1&1/2 hours to Penn State Univ. I suggest you go first to the visitor’s center in the morning. There is plenty to see and all close by 4 or 5 PM. We enjoyed a similar distance trip to Altoona and the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum. However, if you are looking for a quiet, restful vacation with self-entertainment and like seeing wild life and nature, you should find Silverwoods at Treasure Lake enjoyable.

was an owner but sold the unit. Units were in the process of being renovated. You definetly need a car because silverwoods it takes about 12 minutes to drive to the front gate. You are right beside the golf course and are able to watch golfers all day long. The play area was rough and the pool needed upgraded. The town of Dubois was a nice town with a lot of nice restaurants. WE stayed in october week 40 so the lake was closed. There was a lot of deer at night. You would see deer everywhere. As for things to do the main attraction is seeing the Elk herd in Benezette. It's about a half hour away but worth the trip.

Our family loves the snow and winter vacations so we opted this year to go to Silverwoods at Treasure Lake. What a pleasant surprise! There are 11 of us so we had to rent two units. They were side by side and very convenient for the three families.

The units were a little run down but not at all uncomfortable. They were clean and check in was a breeze. The bedrooms were very large (a real plus) and the beds were extremely comfortable. There is a wood burning fireplace in every unit and the kitchen has all the necessities one would need to cook in if you chose to. Also, the units boarder the golf course and in the winter it is a winter wonderland for the children to go out and play. The area is hugh and safe for their enjoyment. They had snowball battles, snowman building contests, and went sledding on the slopes. What more could a kid ask for during a winter time vacation? And for us adults; well, we built a big fire in the fireplace inside and relaxed still being able to keep an eye on the kids outside. It was wonderful!!

There is a nice indoor pool, slopes for tubing, and a ski lodge with a game room, restaurant and bar area with a large screen TV.

You definately need a car to visit this resort. It is a huge place with two lakes, beaches and two 18 hole golf courses. Extremely kid friendly.

This place is one of the best kept secrets and not mentioned enough for the winter and summer beauty it beholds. I would go back in a heart beat and would recommend it highly to anyone.

My wife and I spent 4th of July week at Silverwoods. We were pleasently surprised. Very nice 2 bedroom townhouse in a gated community of 9000 acres with app 3000 acres off lakes, golf courses (2 -18 hole PGA) and lots of very nice homes situated around three lakes. The townhouses had been totally remodeled in 2002, all new flooring, appliances, furniture, paint, etc. Family oriented with beaches, water sports, pools, hiking, lot of wildlife. But still very quiet and peaceful. Everything very clean and well maintained !
