Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Molokai, Maui & Lanai Towers

New Maui Ocean Club Lahaina Village resort page added to RedWeek.com

Feb 14, 2007

As Maui Ocean Club is expanding, so is RedWeek.com. A new resort page has been added to RedWeek.com -- Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas. This page highlights the new Lahaina Villas structure and the top-of-the-line accommodations being offered. The new page is listed just below the Maui Ocean Club resort page. If you have a unit for rent/sale/exchange at Lahaina Villas that is currently advertised on the Maui Ocean Club page, send a message to RedWeek Customer Service (http://www.redweek.com/contact_us) requesting your advertisement be moved to the new Lahaina Villas page. Please do this ONLY if you have a unit in Lahaina Villas.

I have noticed many rental listings that are posted in the wrong category (i.e. Lahaina Villa rentals are posted on the Maui Ocean Club section, and some Maui Ocean Club rentals are posted on the Lahaina Villa section).

Given that you show the same photos on both sections, I think the confusion is understandable.

My suggestion is that you show ONLY Maui Ocean Club photos in the Maui Ocean Club section (right now you are showing some interior photos from the Lahaina Villas in the Maui Ocean Club section).

And I suggest you show ONLY Lahaina Villas photos in the Lahaina Villas section (right now you are showing interior and exterior photos of the Maui Ocean Club in the Lahaina Villas section).

That will make if more obvious to folks which section they should be using.

Hi Gregory,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have gone through all of the postings for both Marriott's Maui Ocean Club and Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas and have moved those that were definitely under the wrong resort.

We would like to make sure the pictures are correct but certainly could sure use your help with those. Since there are so many pictures if you could just let us know which photos need to be removed from both listings would be a great help.

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas - please give the photo number beginning with the main photo as #1 and so forth through #15 that needs to be removed.

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - #1-#41 - the same system

There may be the case that both resorts will share the same amenities so both could have those photos remain.

Thanks so much for all your help.

Marty

Marty: If I can, I will upload some JPGs of the new Lahaina tower rooms plus 2 overall photos of the future 2009 complex with all the buildings. IMHO, these photos (and only these photos) belong in the new Lahaina Tower section. I hate to be negative about creating the new section, but I am afraid that this will only continue to create confusion (and flustration) since people are so used to only going to one location for one hotel. The only L-T solution that I can see is to add another "location" field in your database (being an ex-programmer, I know this is not that easy) and show that in the rental listing as well as the sales listing. A 2 or 3 letter abbreviation would suffice. Just my 2 cents. -Owen-

Hi Owen,

We don't normally split the timeshares when a new building is built unless the accomodations are going to be drastically different. I'm not sure what the case was with this resort. In the mean time, I have removed all the photos from the Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas page. If you could email me the photos that I can add so that the Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas page will look different that would be fantastic. Please email them to marty@redweek.com.

I don't know about the programming change but I rather doubt that will happen.

Thanks so much for our help!

I had made the request for the split of the different properties. They are drastically different both in accomodations and pricing. It was confusing having the two properties together. I agree that having the right photos will be helpful.
