Staying at this resort
We will be flying in from Michigan in July and staying at this resort for 3 days until we can check into a resort that we are staying in at Princeville area. We got this resort at a good point value through rci for the 3 days we are staying there. Just wanted to know if there are certain one bedroom units or buildings that were facing the ocean and nice.

Building D is off to the right and faces the ocean. The Pono kai website has a map of the units and Buildings are lettered. For example building E faces the ocean but is set back from the path (that is public) that fronts the building on the ocean side. When you take the path to the right, going North, you can have a great walk that leads to an area on the ocean where you can sometimes see Monk seals (endangered, only 1300 left). About a half mile up from the resort ...you can also access this area by car along the highway (before the bridge and hill). Kapa'a is a historic town and located close to the Wailua river and two waterfalls. Easy access South to Koloa, Hanapepe and Waiamea Canyon. Whereas, once you are North you will have access to Kilauea Lighthouse, hanalei Valley overlook, Hanalei town and Kee Beach for sunsets ...walk down the beach a little and you can see the NaPali cliffs and at sunset what a picture.......have a great time

Yes there are one bedroom units that are along the oceanfront. the one bedrooms have a queen bed and in the living room a pullout which is quite good. The view from the condos is wonderful and you will hear the sea from your livingromm and balcony (or deck for ground floor units).
