    We are writing to inform you, that the Carlsbad City Council adopted a new city law (City Ordinance No. CS-475) on August 20, 2024, prohibiting smoking (including vaping and cannabis) in and around all multiunit residences in Carlsbad. The new law applies to both rental and owner-occupied multiunit properties and aims to protect residents from secondhand and thirdhand smoke.

    This new law will go into effect as of January 1, 2025. The law applies to Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara and prohibits smoking in all areas of the property including without limitation all common areas (i.e. Pool Areas, Meadows Reception building, Summits Clubhouse, etc.), the interior of all villas, villa balconies, and villa patios. Smoking is only allowed within two specifically designated smoking areas in the community: (1) at the right of the Meadows reception building and (2) across from the Summits Clubhouse entry where designated.
