Per the owner: Why We Chose Grand Timber Lodge – A Summer Mountain Retreat
We fell in love with Grand Timber Lodge because it offered everything we wanted in a mountain getaway—without needing snow to enjoy it. As summer people, we were drawn to the fresh alpine air, scenic hiking trails, and vibrant culture of Breckenridge in the warmer months. Our summer week has become a cherished time to reconnect with nature and each other, whether summiting Mt. Quandary, enjoying a glass of wine on a sunny patio, or browsing the unique shops and galleries in town.
Grand Timber Lodge has been the perfect home base. Nestled between Peak 8 and Peak 9, it offers easy access to trailheads, historic Main Street, and a wide range of summer festivals and events. The indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, and lodge-style amenities make it easy to relax after a day of adventure. But what truly sets this resort apart is the staff—they’ve consistently gone above and beyond to help us plan memorable stays year after year.
While we’ve created many wonderful memories here with our daughters, now that they’re grown, our vacation habits have evolved—and we feel it’s time to pass along this special place to someone who will enjoy it as much as we have.
If you love the idea of summers filled with mountain sunrises, wildflower hikes, and the laid-back charm of Breckenridge, this could be your perfect seasonal escape.
