The village of Dunkeld was voted the best place to live in Scotland in 2023. It is less than 90 minutes north of Edinburgh airport. Located at the southern end of the Scottish Highlands, Dunkeld is within easy driving distance to many historical and scenic locations, including some of the world's most famous golf courses. We have owned here since 2007 and have never been disappointed with our stay. An anniversary cruise this year is the reason for not using the week.

This 2 bedroom lodge is located on a unique property that is fronted by a private stretch of the River Tay. A coveted position on the 280 acre estate of moors and forests established in the Edwardian period for the Duke of Atholl. A perfect place to experience the true Scottish highlands.

For location, scenery and facilities this must be the best in Scotland. There are only about 20 units and most have views across grassed areas and gardens to the river Tay and the hills beyond.

One tip, the hotel does a dinner dance on a Saturday night and dinner Ceilidh on a Sunday night. We’d recommend them both, especially the Sunday night Ceilidh if you’re from outside Scotland. Don’t worry if you don’t know what to do, just ask and the Ceilidh band will happily talk you through the steps.
