Lawai Beach Resort Reviews & Ratings

This is an update April, 2024! I have been going to the Lawai beach resort for 35 years and it is still VERY hard to leave this beautiful place! I get up every morning at 6:30 to walk to the Spouting Horn or the Sheraton, then eat breakfast while enjoying the beautiful views from the lanai. The staff is very nice and helpful, and other visitors are so friendly-owners as well as traders. There are three pools, Jacuzzi, tennis, fitness room, and mini golf on site. Alii and Banyan buildings have their own washers and dryers. Even though Kauai is very laid-back, there is so much to do. There is great snorkeling right across the street, just be careful of the rocks. The national tropical botanical gardens is just down the street. The aloha festival is in late September. The ATV trip is my favorite-especially if it’s muddy, zip lining is a great adventure, Waimea Canyon is a must, my favorite luau is at the Kiahanna plantation, the bike path has beautiful ocean views. a boat ride up the Napali coast is also a must. The trail from the Hyatt has breathtaking views of the ocean and cliffs. Princeville, Hanalei, Kapaa, Kaloa, Hanapepe, Poipu and so much more! Great fun at a truly great resort!

It's an awesome location in Lawai, walking distance to the shopping center and restaurants! Such an amazing beachfront resort with the best snorkeling directly across the street at Lawai Beach! Gorgeous sunsets from the Lani! Mini golf is a lot of fun with the family!

unobstructed ocean view, no one above or below, the perfect retreat with plenty of room to move around. Having 2 washer and dryers makes it easy to travel with less. The full kitchen will save money so you can have a meal on the lanai looking at the ocean waves. It is so beautiful. The location is great for taking walks along the ocean or a quick drive to a hiking trail or a great restaurant to try out.

Best Snorkeling beach ever! We saw 3-7 turtles each time we snorkeled. Lots of fish too.

Perfect family resort. Low key, relaxed stay. Grass outside for kids to play on, and one of the best snorkeling beaches ( with turtles) directly across the street. Street is almost private and you can leave your screen door open at night to hear the surf ( almost no car traffic). But only minutes to Koloa village and Poipu restaurants.

Great place for kids and adults. Located on the south shore of the island. Not far from the airport (Lihue) is a Costco and shopping. Resort is 15 miles from Lihue.

Staff very friendly and helpful. You can rent snorkel equipment, chairs and umbrellas.

I love the location of sunny Poipu! If you go out of the resort and turn right & walk along the ocean 1 mile you get to "spouting horn" and the botanical Gardens. If you go left, you go about a mile to Bubba's burgers and lapperts ice cream and a shopping center... the fancy beach House restaurant is across the street. Some of the best snorkeling on the island is also across the street. A couple of times a week the resort has a food truck or pizza oven located in the parking lot. It's really nice to go down, get that food and then sit on the balcony ( lanai) . I never tire of watching & hearing the waves . It's not unusual to see surfers out there. They can be seen from the living room or balcony from our unit..There is a little snack shack located on the property across from the restaurant. They have a wide variety of goodies there. There are 3 pools & putt putt golf onsite. Our family goes to Costco & the grocery store after we fly in to Lihue so we can relax as soon as we check in. There is plenty to do in the Island (last time we enjoyed the tubing!) but even staying in the unit is great too!

We have been owners at this resort since 1993. We are a blended family and for many years enjoyed coming with anywhere from 1-3 children. We love the flexibility of having a full kitchen so the kids can eat whenever they desire, and we love the location -South shore of Kauai across from one of the best snorkeling beaches on the island. Now that the children have their own children, we bought two more units at Lawai Beach Resort so the whole family can come and enjoy this special place. The location is ideal for exploring the island. The Spouting Horn, Poipu Beach, and Koloa town are a short drive away. A little longer drive will take you to Waimea Canyon - the Grand Canyon of the West, and for a full-day excursion you can explore the North Shore including picturesque Hanalei. The staff at Lawai Beach Resort are friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is laid-back Hawaiian. It is a perfect place to let go of your daily tensions and enjoy your vacation.

The resort has the best snorkeling on the island just steps away, in front of the resort. The Beach House Restaurant is within walking distance from the resort. Watch the breathtaking beauty of the sunrise and sunset from the privacy of your balcony. The sound of the waves hitting the beach is soothing, but nothing to compare with the sight of the majestic whales, as you relax there. Green Parrots, arrive to roost in the Palm trees nightly, as the sun sets. These are reminders that you are truly in paradise.

All rooms in the Ali building have lanai that overlook ocean, full kitchen, livingroom, wifi and free parking. Great snorkeling and surfing at Lawai Beach. The location makes the entire island accessible, and the Poipu/Kolao area has the best shopping and dining on the island. Walkable to shops and attractions like Allerton/McBride Gardens, and Spouting Horn. Units are spacious. The only downside is units do not have A/C, but has windows on both ocean side and opposite side that open, and ceiling fans in living room and bedroom, and some portable fans too. Mini-Golf, Excercise Room, plus more ammenities.

Beautiful tranquil peaceful location. Maintained to perfection. The date listed is not locked as this is a floating week based on availability. You can pick the week you want (check in Thursday, Fri, Sat). Pick your check in date & I will check the availability with the LBR. No money is required until the reservation is locked in your name & you have the reservation email stating so. At that time I ask for 60% & the remaining within 45 days before departure. beautiful ocean and garden view. great snorkeling with lots of colorful fish just off the beach. great restaurant across the street for evening dining. the place to go to watch the sunset.

This resort is well run with excellent security. Pools, resort and rooms are spotless. I see it as an excellent value, especially for Kauai. Newer Weber Grills helped keep food costs down as dining out is very expensive. Alternating food trucks on site nice touch. Sunset views, off patio, hard to beat for dinner and cold drink. No A/C which is only negative because of noises and heat. Fans helped a lot. Snorkeling across street some of best on Kauai. Fun to just walk and jump in.

Wonderful location directly across from the ocean. Beautiful sunsets and quiet, simple resort. Nice pools, but no super slides for the kids. Miniature golf is free, as well as the exercise equipment. Pickle ball courts are also available. Very nice. Open all the windows to get the cross breeze which is usually quite adequate. Fans are also provided in each room. But be aware that there is currently no AC.

We have been coming to Lawai Beach Resort for ten years. There is such a welcoming Aloha Spirit there. We love the suite Coral 3213 for the large lanai windows on three sides, including a kitchen window. The fresh ocean breezes and the ocean waves are wonderful.

This resort is right on the beach and best snorkeling location on the island. There are 3 pools and an ocean view fitness center. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

A wonderful place for a relaxing getaway or a great family vacation. Units are kept in beautiful condition. Lovely location for exploring Kauai. Allerton and McBryde Gardens are very close by also Poipu beach too.

Let the Ocean be your door step. Lawai Beach Resort checks all the boxes.

Great resort with friendly staff that makes you feel at home. The units a quite large and very comfortable. We spend four weeks every year there and love it. It has everything you need for a nice vacation…walking dissonance to a shopping centre and a beach is just in front of the resort.

We love Lawai Beach Resort! The staff are very pleasant & respond quickly to our requests. The resort has 3 pools & jacuzzi’s, a gym with an ocean view, mini golf , pickle ball, & an on-site concierge to help book your tours or rent equipment . Many BBQ grills throughout the property, including on the rooftop with cozy , comfortable seating to watch the sunset over the ocean. Free off street parking. One of the best snorkeling beaches is across the street. Close to shopping malls, restaurants, golf course, & more beaches!

Beautiful property with amazing ocean views from your room. Watch the surfers from your lanai. Excellent snorkeling directly across the street. Close to many beaches; shopping, and fine dining. Breathtaking sunset views directly across the street from resort. Many amenities including mini golf, 3 pools/hotbtubs, tennis, pickleball, ping pong and a gym. Food trucks come to resort on select nights.
