This resort is in an excellent location as it is only a short walk to the Paradise Village Shopping Mall. It is also close to the marina where you can easily charter your own boat for snorkeling or fishing.

The beach is excellent and the waves are good for boogie boarding. A much nicer beach than in Puerto Vallarta or even towards Bucerias.

Could use more pool space but it's fine. Spent most of the time on the beach.

This all inclusive resort is decent and on the inexpensive side. It was our first experience in Nuevo Vallarta a few years ago. Pool seemed small and always overcrowded. Liquour seemed either watered down or filled name brand bottles with ?? Didn't care for the timeshare sales table staring at you when you get off the elevator. Food quality was OK. We lucked out with an ocean front room after complaining about the mold in the first room assigned. It doesn't seem to have improved much with Occidental's takeover. Staff is very attentive. The RCI hostess was wonderful. Nice little shopping mall only a couple blocks away. Sun was always beautiful. However a couple of years ago, stayed at the nearby Grand Velas, we were blown away wiht how nice Gran Velas was. Quite abit pricier than Occidental Grand, but well worth it.

We just returned from our second vacation to Allegro Grand Nuevo Vallarta. We were treated better than we have ever been treated in our lives. The bellboy remembered our names when we arrived this year and so did some of the hotel employees. This staff is absolutely the best, they work all day and then the activities staff puts on a show every night. The food is great! Each night offering a different theme at the main restaurant. Drinks are exceptional, ordering them virgin, weak, medium or heavy alcohol. There is no skimping anywhere. We will definately be back.

Awesome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Quiet, restful vacation place. Or if you prefer, take in the entertainment that is offered nightly. Scuba diving lessons, kayaking, and the usual excursions are offered. Fifteen minute bus ride to Puerta Vallarta, running every ten minutes.

We return to Allegro Nuevo Vallarta, each time we go to Mexico because we know we will be treated like royalty!
