Updated July 4, 2024: Whether you select the original Marriott Maui Ocean Club (MMOC) or the newer Lahaina or Napili Villas, you can't go wrong! We visit every year and have enjoyed each tower. Overall resort info and details on each of the choices are included below.

Tips: **For breathtaking, full panoramic views of the ocean, sunsets, whales and other Hawaiian Islands, select an ocean FRONT unit. Sleep to the sound of waves below and enjoy a very private lanai.

**Guaranteed floor/villa location in the newer towers is possible. Select Ocean Front condos were sold as "Fixed Weeks" = exact unit on the same floor and same week each year. Find this information under owner's "Unit/Building Location" or listing descriptions. Higher floors have spectacular, unobstructed ocean/beach views.

    --------------------------------

Starting in mid-2024: renovations in the original Molokai, Lanai and Maui buildings (Marriott's Maui Ocean Club) will include: new bathrooms, hardwood flooring, furniture, carpet, window coverings, appliances, accessories. A new kitchen redesign accommodates a full-size 2-door freezer/fridge. The kitchen also has a full-size dishwasher, microwave, small appliances, and stocked cabinets for dining and cooking. MMOC has very spacious rooms, plus a large lanai off every room. A full bath is also in every room in the condo. For instance, a 2-bedroom condo with a central living/dining/kitchen area has a total of 3 full bathrooms. A 1-bedroom has a spacious master bedroom plus living/dining/kitchen, for 2 full baths. Each room also has a flatscreen HDTV, ceiling fan and wall safe. A studio (0/1) is the 2nd bedroom or guest/lock-off unit that has its own private entrance and a kitchenette (microwave, under-counter fridge, toaster, coffee maker, blender, eating utensils, etc.).

A newer community kitchen with stove-tops, commercial sinks, toaster ovens and prep areas is available near the main lobby. Stainless commercial grills and thatch-covered beachfront tables are located throughout the resort.

The centrally-located laundry area has complimentary commercial front-loading washers, large dryers and LG steamer.

The resort's spectacular 3.5 acre super pool with slides, waterfalls, grotto, hot tubs, Pirate Ship cove and bar sits in the middle of the MMOC's 3 buildings.

    --------------------------

The two newer Lahaina Villas & Napili Villas were all refurbished just before the pandemic-- new flooring, furniture, beds, stainless appliances, fixtures, back-lit master bath mirrors, etc. These condos have in-unit washer/dryers and full kitchens with granite counters, stainless appliances (large fridge/freezer, stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher), fully equipped to cook & serve at a large dining table for 6. The 3-section master bedroom suite (includes air/soaker tub, 2 vanity areas, glass/marble rain head shower, and master king bedroom) is in each 1- and 2-bedroom villa. A studio/2nd guest bedroom/lock-off (0/1) has its own private entrance and granite kitchenette counter with stainless sink, microwave, 2-door fridge, and stocked upper and lower cabinets. Each newer tower has quiet pools with waterfalls, hot tubs and large oceanside lawns to sunbathe or lounge under thatched roofs or palm trees.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Towel huts provide free towels at each of the resort's pools. Hammocks are located throughout the resort. Beachside cabanas can be rented for full or half days.

Amenities: On-site oceanfront STARBUCKS, restaurant, carry-out food (including breakfast, burgers, artisan pizza), pool bars, service staff for pool food/drinks, oceanfront massages, spa. Modern fitness center. 36 holes of golf adjacent to the resort. Ocean activity hut rents surf, snorkel, etc. equipment.

FREE: Daily activities for all ages include sunrise beach yoga, make your own ukulele, pool and beach lessons/activities, koi feeding, lei-making, children's activities, laser-tag, movie nights under the stars, popcorn, shave-ice, game nights (including poker for adults) ...plus free pickle-ball/tennis courts and equipment, putting green, lawn games, and more.

Extra resort days: Complimentary hospitality rooms with spotless private baths, TV's, lounge area, computers for use for the full days of check-in and check-out. Bell desk will hold luggage both days.

Unlimited-refill mugs can be purchased for coffee, soda, juices (pineapple, mango, apple, lemonade), teas & ice water during your entire stay.

A short stroll on the ocean-side Ka'anapali Beach boardwalk leads to nearby Whaler's Village for shopping and well-known restaurants.

The Marriott condos on Ka'anapali Beach are great for couples, families, groups of friends. Truly paradise!

We stayed in a two bedroom in the main tower of the MMOC from June 24, 2016 through July 8, 2016. The first week was in an ocean view and the second week was a garden view. We have stayed at this resort several times and I have previously reviewed it. The last time we were here was four years ago. MMOC is my favorite place to stay in the world. You simply cannot beat this resort: It is located on a beautiful stretch of Kaanapali Beach, within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and excellent snorkeling. The pool is amazing and the most beautiful of any timeshare I’ve stayed at. I love that we can hop back and forth between the pool and the beach, which are only about 125 feet apart. My kids really got into snorkeling during this trip. I would HIGHLY recommend “The Snorkel Store” in Kaanapali for your rentals. If you call ahead and make a reservation, even on the same day, they will give you 50% off. They had excellent equipment and service. Back to the beach though: The snorkeling at the beach by the hotel is pretty decent. However, little ones absolutely need to wear aqua socks or fins at all times, as there is a shallow reef here with sharp coral. We had the best snorkeling of the whole trip at Black Rock, which is about a 10-15 minute walk to the north. There were tons of large turtles, some eels, an eagle ray, and beautiful fish. I would also recommend Kapalua Bay or Napili Beach for snorkeling. The resort itself is very well kept. Not a lot has changed since my last review. This resort is awesome for families, but is romantic as well for couples, as long as you don’t mind children in the vicinity. The Pirate Ship pool, which is adjacent to the main “Super Pool”, is awesome for toddlers and younger children. They also have a playground for the kids, and activities that the resort offers multiple times each day. My kids participated in lei-making, koi-fish feeding, and a scavenger hunt, among others. The resort had fun games and BBQ food on the 4th of July for an extra fee. They also sell ice cream sundaes at the pool once or twice a week, and make popcorn and snow cones, also for a fee. The rooms were clean with decent sound proofing. They will be refurbished this year, which will be a nice change. If you can afford it, I highly recommend getting an ocean view room at this resort. Also ask for a higher floor. You get a panoramic view of not only the ocean, but the beautiful pool area as well. It is breathtaking! A couple changes since our last visit: They now have a pool table and a ping pong table in the lobby, as well as an over-sized chess game. My kids really enjoyed all of these. It would be great if they had one or two more ping pong/pool tables though. MMOC has added a kitchen near the downstairs elevators by the entrance. This kitchen has stove top burners, but no ovens. The old game room in the lobby is now a play area for children, where most of the crafts are also done. There is an X-Box Kinect in the room, as well as a large Frozen play house which my daughters loved. They also offer about 50-75 DVD’s that can be rented for free from the staff. In the main tower where we stayed, there is not a full kitchen. These rooms have a small refrigerator and a tiny freezer on top. There is no oven or stove top, only a microwave, as well as a sink and dishwasher. They have the normal pots and pans and utensils that most timeshares offer. I’ve heard that when the rooms are refurbished this year, they will be installing larger refrigerators. The workout room has new equipment—with treadmills, two stepmills, other aerobic machines, as well as nautilus and a small amount of free weights. They have a new Universal machine, and a room for stretching/Yoga. Everything overlooks the ocean and the pool—so nice! I love that Marriott still does a free mid-week cleaning for the timeshare weeks. It seems like most of the timeshares are phasing this out and it is really appreciated. ***FOR ANYBODY THAT IS THINKING OF STAYING HERE, THE SUPER-POOL IS GOING TO BE CLOSED STARTING IN MID-AUGUST FOR A FEW MONTHS, FOR RENOVATION*** Last but not least, please do not miss sunset at the resort. Grab a lounge chair and soak in the beauty, and try to take a good snapshot if you can. Sunset at the resort is absolutely beautiful, with Hawaiian music playing in the background, and the lushness of the resort surrounding you. It truly feels magical. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did!

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club has been our little piece of heaven for the last 17 years. Many of the staff have been there since we visited the first time. We love the consistency in the location, cleanliness, staff and quality. The ocean view with a balcony is the added bonus for us. This is the season for whale watching from the balcony. Paradise awaits you.

The pool is fun. When we take our grandchildren, they really love the ship in the wading area.

Food is great and the views spectacular. It has been our home away from home for many, many years.

Have been coming back to this resort almost every year for over a decade. Fabulous location with easy access to beachfront and boardwalk. Beautiful grounds landscaping, pools, whirlpools, kids' pool - everything you'd want for a relaxing vacation. For those who like Starbucks there's one on-site, as well as a quick serve takeaway and a full-service restaurant.

We purchased a 2 BR oceanview unit in 2001 and have been there 15 times since. The main building is comprised of converted hotel rooms and isn't as pretty as the new towers, but the bedrooms are larger, with a sleep sofa and room for roll-aways, so you have more room for sleeping more family. We don't want to cook dinner in when we're in Maui (there's too many fantastic restaurants!), so not having a full kitchen is okay with us. You do have microwave and apartment sized refrigerators, so we had plenty of room for drinks and snacks or lunch items. There is an amazing amount of activities and sights to see, and the staff has always been great. The whole property is beautiful and I can't imagine your family not having a great time.
