We spent September 10-17, 2004 at this resort, and found that it raises the bar on what a luxury facility can offer. As always, intuitive service comes before the elegance of the building. But the quality of the setting must be experienced to be believed. The personal, distinctive and fascinating art collection of the owner, Mr. William Louis-Dreyfus, an authority on contemporary art in his own right, is displayed throughout the property.

We would be interested in future exchanges with this location, using our week at Four Seasons Aviara, or one of our four weeks at Four Seasons Scottsdale. We are happy to travel to Jackson Hole in the spring and fall seasons, as well as winter and summer.

As I have also commented with respect to the Costa Rica property, the new Four Seasons properties have evolved more to a shared condominium model, with a minimum purchase of 3 or 5 weeks, to constitute a fraction of a year. The full 2 or 3 bedroom unit must be used each week, and prices have moved much upscale from Aviara and Scottsdale. It would be very difficult to call this property a timeshare, accounting for the fact that there are so far no resale or rental listings.

However, the property is open to exchange for existing owners at Four Seasons, and we certainly plan to visit again. I will also note that this property is well-located for western Canadians, and that getting there can be an enjoyable and rewarding drive.

Addendum: We visited again in November 2006, a very quiet shoulder season. There were several occasions when we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. My wife and I have visited many Four Seasons locations, and so far, this one has been the grandest and most elegant of them all.
