We stayed at the WorldMark Clear Lake from 7 March to 14 March, 2009. This was the "off-season" but was a perfect choice for our mini family reunion. We were able to exchange (through Interval International) a Hyatt "Diamond" week for three unit-weeks here: 2 one-bedroom units (103 and 104 in Bldg "B") and 1 two-bedroom unit (202 in Bldg "B"). All of these units overlooked the lake.

The resort was very clean - the staff is clearly motivated to keep the facility well maintained. A low-traffic roadway borders the resort on the lakeside, which was a good place for our grandchildren (ages 4,5,6) to bicycle during the day. The ground floor unit (1-bedroom units) patios opened onto a large grass area that also provided a great place for the kids to play. The resort's "permanent residents" appeared to include a couple of dozen ducks which routinely visited outside our units - once they discovered our grandchildren's bread-feeding times :) There is an even larger grass area near the lobby with a jungle-gym playground and two horseshoe pits. A basketball court was right behind our units (courtesy basketballs are available in the lobby). The pool area is adjacent to the lobby and consists of 3 pools: a 3-5 foot deep heated pool, a children's wading pool, and a large "jacuzzi spa" with a capacity of 24! The resort's private dock is just across the low-traffic roadway from the lobby, where you can fish and/or dock a boat. Fishing poles are available for rent ($7 for 24-hours) which helped to entertain the kids for about an hour - I guess you have to be a better angler than any of us to catch anything. The large grass areas throughout the resort, as well as the "kid friendly" activities available make this a very good resort for families with children.

For the adults there are several wineries close by (a few miles). The only drawback for some (minor to us) might be the limited number of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Each unit had a full kitchen, and with some great cooks around we "ate in" most of the time. However, we did discover (via recommendations from locals) a very good Thai restaurant in Lucerne. There is also a great little coffee-expresso-sandwich shop (near the Foster's Freeze) in Lucerne. We may well return again with our grandchildren (2 of whom live close by) before they "grow up" too much (i.e. become teenagers) to enjoy a "family" resort!
