We love this very family-friendly destination.
The positives are: The Marriott Mountainside has the very best location at the Park City Mountain Village. It has true ski-in, ski-out access to several major lifts. Easy and reliable interstate access to/from the Salt Lake City airport. The two bedroom units are spacious and comfortably furnished. The Mountainside has lots of resort features such as a huge pool and five outdoor hot tubs, a big indoor game area, staffed family activity center, free family shows (magicians, musicians/singers, petting animals, actors dressed as famous characters), free movies in the movie theater, fire pits, and more. There is a well-maintained and nice gym; free ski valet; well-maintained and landscaped facility; and especially good value on full villas if rented through Redweek.
The negatives: nice but not luxurious - think Marriott Courtyard or Hilton Garden Inn level quality and styling without maid service. Also, it’s at Park City Mountain - not Deer Valley. Only about a third of the units have much of a view and no units have more than two-bedrooms/two-baths. By themselves, the studios are too small for more than a few days’ stay. Since Park City is spread out, a car is needed but parking at the Mountainside is limited to one car per unit. The swimming pool is pretty but kept uncomfortably cold.
When we ski in Colorado, we usually stay in Hyatt timeshares which are a little nicer. Also, when we come to Park City, we usually ski about half our days at Deer Valley. Nevertheless, my whole family loves the Marriott Mountainside and wants to return at least every-other-year.
