The Banyan is a great resort for the price. You can stay at the Hilton, Hyatt, or other resorts for $250 to $600 per NIGHT with no free parking or stay here for $800 per week with free parking. It's close to the beach, Church, Kanapli Park, Zoo, Aquarium, and everything else Waikiki has to offer. The room views vary from partial ocean, Diamond Head, to mountain with rainbows. We loved the big pool, tennis court, hot tubs, putting green, and modern lobby with a great staff. The room set up is great with a kingsize bed private bedroom, a built in murphy queen bed and couch in the living room. It is not the expensive resort for a one time honeymoon but a value option that is very nice for the special vacation to the Islands. We have stayed over ten times in Honolulu and this is our favorite place to stay. We have stayed at other condos, and hotels, paid much more, and got much less. Look at the pictures, look at the location, look at the price, and do yourself a favor and stay here.

I stayed here in Sept. 2006 and my child was not welcomed with sand toys or anything else. The resort was just alright. I would not choose it again. I did however really like the location.

I stayed a week at the Banyan in February 2005, though not with this timeshare company. The buildings are great. The amenities are adequate and the location is fantastic. It's only two short blocks to Waikiki Beach and all the other great spots in Waikiki. Waikiki is only about a mile long, so it's an easy walk from one end to the other. You can't beat the cost of staying at the Waikiki Banyan compared to the major hotels where they get anywhere from $250 to $400 per night.

Location is great here. Also the murphy bed is a big improvement on a pull-out couch, and the bedroom has a king bed (unusual for Honolulu). Before we had this time share, for our first visit to HI I spent about 5 hours on the phone trying to find a reasonably-priced hotel (under $300/night) that had a king bed at all in Waikiki.

You are close to Kapiolani Park where more of the "real Hawaiian" action happens, like the summer movie nights, and near the end of the parade routes.

It's 2 blocks to Waikiki and Kuhio Beach, which is the best part of Waikiki in my opinion. It originally belonged to part of Prince Kuhio's estate and the Hawaiian name means "flower from the wreath of heaven"--which perfectly describes how you feel in the water here.

There's a lovely shaded rock waterfall to take photos in front of and cool off in, bathrooms & outdoor showers, plus there's a seawall--fish can come in, little kids (or lazy adults) don't have to worry about drifting out to sea. Also close to the fast food for starving kids.

The resort staff at the Banyan is very nice and courteous. The grounds, as well as the neighborhood are kept exceptionally clean.

The newly upgraded lobby provides a superior entrance to this upscale resort.

The nearby Waikiki Beach is a wonderful place to people watch, relax and enjoy the warm water in a safe area protected from the surf. You'll find perfect waters for floating on that raft you bought across the street at the ABC store for less than $5.

This Banyan's location is a great "home base" to explore Waikiki and the Island. Plenty to do and see on foot, with tours of the island and all of it's wonders available from or near the resort.
