A home away from home. Really enjoyed our time at Sheraton Plantation and we keep on coming back. The new Hangout at Broadway at the Beach is also a hit!

Wonderful place for a family vacation. Lots of activities for the kids and adults alike. Close to Broadway at the Beach and other major attractions.

This resort is close to many amenities in the Myrtle Beach Area. Close to restaurants, shopping and beautiful beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect for a family vacation!

Great location close to the Ocean, Broadway at the Beach (shops/restaurants) and the Myrtle Beach Pelican's Stadium. Great resort with free miniature golf, separate pools geared for children/adults, and playgrounds. Large rooms/screened porch with a fully equipped kitchen and stacked washer/dryer to do a quick load after being at the beach. We enjoyed our stay and just relaxed!

Brought a family of 11 here in 3 different units. Only to find, 3/4’s of the pools are being renovated. (And yet I haven’t seen any work being done the week I was here} No other options except the indoor pool and 1 small jacuzzi. I should NOT be charged full price for a 1/4 amenities stay. This is a great place in the summer when all the pools are open. I’m sure it will be good when the renovation is done, but they really should have found a local pool that we could go to and enjoy outside. I agree with complaints of smoking. I don’t remember the resort having designated smoking at every entrance of every building, but they do now. NOT nice to have to walk through smoke every time I go back to my unit. One family member with Cystic Fibrosis and another highly allergic to smoke shouldn’t have to have this - move smoking areas away from units! The staff in the activities center have great activities for families and they were very helpful. Great location, would be nice to have a market for a few essential items.

My family and I have stayed at this resort several times and it is the most convenient place on the Grand Strand. The beach is not important to us but close enough that we can go for the day. I highly recommend Sheraton Broadway to families with young children or even teenagers you trust to walk back and forth to Broadway's amenities. I would rate this resort 4.5 stars and easy access to Pepper Geddings complex to get daily fee gym membership to workout and exercise.

Very nice and clean for the most part. The pool area is really nice, however, the bar closes early. There is no convenience store or restaurant, however, the nearby area has endless possibilities for both (you can walk to some in the area). The rental costs are a little steep in the summer months, but well worth it if you have a family going. As far as smoking, the unit did not smell, but out on the patio did because people were smoking above and below our 2nd floot unit.

I am an owner at this resort, and I want to clarify that all the rooms at this resort are now non-smoking. (Smoking is still allowed on the balconies and in certain designed outdoor areas.)

Although some of the reviews here on Redweek mention smoking in the rooms, these reviews are mostly from about a decade ago, and the resort's smoking policy has since been changed to forbid smoking in the rooms. Additionally, the resort has been extensively renovated, with the rooms being recently painted, and with drapes and furniture replaced. Guests who smoke in their rooms are now assessed a $250 penalty. If by some chance you get a room where a previous guest broke the rules and smoked, the resort should be able to move you to a new room.

Here is the resort's official smoking policy, taken from the resort's website: "Smoking of any kind — including electronic cigarettes — is not permitted inside the villas, but is permissible on villa patios or balconies if so equipped. If signs of smoking are detected in your villa, a $250 fee will be applied to your folio. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas available throughout the resort. In addition, the resort observes local and state smoking ordinances that may prohibit smoking in some public places."

Re: Williams 976 - not sure who you spoke with because there is NO smoking in these villas! They must have misunderstood you. Please check again. (Maybe smoking on the balconies).

After reading these reviews, I had to call myself. You can smoke in your room at this resort there are no non smoking rooms. I really find that hard to believe but its true. I was considering buying a resale unit here and now there's no way. I would really be upset if I found this out after the fact. I couldn't imagine driving all the way there (from Chicago) and then get there only to have the musty smell of cigarettes in the room. I have 2 small children myself and one has allergies. There are so many other properties in the area why go or worse buy at a resort that allows smoking in all of their rooms?

We love going to the Sheraton Broadway Plantation. Check in has always been quick and the room is always clean.. The unit is so spacious and all units will have been refurbished by June 2012.

We wish the pool bar/grill was open in the off season as it usually opens in April and closes in Sept... It would also be nice to have a convenience mart on site for small items and sandwiches, etc. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby but you have to get in your car and drive. The wireless internet is slow and hopefully that will be upgraded... Other than these small matters, the place is wonderful and the staff is very accomodating.

Resort is located off the beach, but within 5 min drive/ 20 min walk. The pool/water amenities are exceptional for families with younger - tween aged kids. Grounds are well kept, and are a VERY nice alternative to the crowds & rowdy behavior typically found when staying on/ near the boardwalk. The renovations for all units are due to be completed by June 2012.

This is a great place to spend some time with the kids. There are lots of activities and things to do. It's about 5min. away from the beach and just besides Broadway on the Beach.

I have enjoyed being an owner at SBP for many years. I have never had a room smell of smoke The policies of the Resort are No Smoking. There is not an ashtray anywhere in the Villas.

For those reviews that had a smoking problem I feel that the problem was more of an individual breaking the rules versus the property allowing smoking.

My question is for those individuals that experienced the problem, did not the resort change your room for you immediately?

Come on down it is a great place to stay.
